I'm curious whether all / most of the dodgiest decisions we're made by a particular umpire?

Serious question which needs to be answered.

Are you suggesting......

Also noticed that natanui took the mark with 30 secs on the clock ... Did he get a whistle at 15 secs ? No , did he get a hurry up after from the ump at 20 & 25 secs ? No . he got given all the time in the world . Utter bullshit

They showed the vision.

Thomas barely touched the p[layer as he was kicking.

The remonstration resulted in Thomas being put down. They showed it twice and I couldnt comprehend what the downfield was for.

All i saw at the game was Thomas dropped by Shuey away from the contest (assumed more bad blood from the groin hit etc). I thought it was going to be a free to Thomas. Not sure how Kennedy managed to earn downfield free + 30 metres. That stutter-step is atrocious too. He's been doing it non-stop for years yet the commentators crap on about it EVERY single kick. If I see him on the street or at HBF he's getting knee capped so I no longer have to see it.

Good point, the umps were trying hard for them and got the ''blockbuster'' finale they were after.

Brereton: time to tackle 'blight on the game'

Angst about players buckling in tackles to ''stooge'' umpires into paying free kicks resurfaced after West Coast's dramatic win over North Melbourne.

Dermott Brereton has implored the AFL to stamp out what he described as a ''blight on the game''.
Confusion reigned over the free kick to Adam Selwood just before Nic Naitanui's spectacular mark and after-the-siren goal won the game by two points on Friday night. Selwood appeared to fall backwards into his tackler to draw high contact.
The umpire said at the time he had paid the free kick because ''the second one was high, on the ground''. Brereton said if this was the case, the umpire had made an ''unforgivable'' mistake.

AFL umpires' boss Jeff Gieschen will not make a judgment on the decision until after he has viewed all available footage on Monday.

An earlier free kick to Luke Shuey, which allowed the Eagles to keep the ball in their forward arc, was paid when Shuey dropped forward from the knees, and an opponent crashed into his back.

Brereton said players could not be blamed for exploiting a loophole, saying he had done the same thing during his career. ''I disliked the fact that I did it. It meant that I didn't have the creativity to get out of the situation so I would try to stooge the umpire. It was a get-out-of-jail card.

''You can't blame someone for exploiting a loophole that is there. It's up to the rule makers and the umpires' department to become a cohesive unit and strike at the heart of this,'' he said.
''I hope something can be done about it before next year because it's an absolute blight on the game.''

The standard of umpiring is laughable and has been so for years. The rule makers don't help with their new found "interpretations".

Our loss to the Eagles brought up bad memories of the 94 prelim where the umpires crucified us, particular in the 2nd qtr but we still shot ourselves in the foot by not taking our chances in front of goal.

It's interesting that Grand Finals tend to be some of the better umpired games during a season. That is because the GF is not over officiated and only the obvious infringements tend to be paid.

At least KB is happy ****ing with the rules. That's what counts. :stern look

Everyone is talking about the terrible umpiring in the west, and the ducking tactics used by those cheats. The only positive to come out of this would be the pressure on the afl to do something about it. Doubt they will though

Almost 48 hours later and it still burns - trying to source a duck suit that I can wear next time we play them at Sub.

Haven't been able to watch another game this weekend and straight after the siren wasn't sure if i wanted to watch another in 2013 . If this trend continues we will finish this season with 7 wins , we can't keep playing Patch his paying the price for not having a preseason .
Lindsay 3 touches
Wright 6 touches , no handballs , no tackles
Patch 9 touches , 1 tackle
Petrie 1 goal
Swallow 19 touches , wasn't right to play
Wells still cant break a tag
Majak stuggled , was going to happen just a shame it was on a much hyped game

People have always said the one thing they hate about soccer is the diving and staging for frees , sorry but AFL has caught up but the only difference is in soccer the referee in soccer doesn't get sucked in as much . Were we shafted ? Yes

I honestly think in 15 years time i wont be watching AFL because aspects of the game favor certain teams , it will become impossible for teams like us to be any more than a West Ham in the EPL.

Everyone is talking about the last quarter but re watching the 3rd quarter and we were absolutely REAMED as well. Numerous holding the balls paid which werent there. Two soft as butter 50 metre penalties resulting in shots on goal to the duckers..

Next time we play these jokers in the west the bigfooty crew should organise to float this baby down the Swan river

And the three umpires for the next game are in the tug boats and one with a little duckie...

I can't wait to hear the excuses Geisch comes up with this week.
I reckon they'll cop to the Bastinac non-advantage being wrong and the Black "touched", but they'll say the Selwood-Adams tackle was high because they have the vision.
I really hope he addresses what the umpire meant by the "second one being high", Swallow was nowhere near Selwood.

I was looking at the footage in slow motion - could not see ANY contact from Swallow. I did, however, see Adams 'slap' the ball with his left arm. In the video, around 30 seconds you can see Adams 'reaching' for the ball.
If this what the '2nd one' was... omfg.
Can anyone confirm what the 2nd one was?

Apparently this is YouTube footage of this Umpire's bedroom.

Might explain a few things as to what happened on Friday night...

You could also contact AFL House directly Monday morning.

Here's the type of response you will get;

...followed by the Official Media release later in the day about that incident;

Umm, if you have a look at the score (bottom left) we haven't won it yet! This shot of he crowd was just after Naitanui had marked.

You're quite obviously a genius.

I think it's time for you and the rest of the duckwits to leave now.

The novelty is over.
