Thanks. I usually represent myself in any legal matters within which I find myself embroiled.

All present, opposing barristers, lawyers with brief cases full of documents, Magistrates or Judges normally commence full of enthusiasm. Then when they realise what they are up against they take the only remaining available option: they give up. :)

Ok so another minor update. In our last 12 matches we average 12.66 free kicks for. AFL median in 2023 in 19.6.

So during that period teams are infringing each other 54% more often than they infringe Richmond.

Must be the way we play that means nobody drops the ball against us or tackles us high or blocks us in a marking contest....:tearsofjoy:

CFL. ****ing abysmally bent competition.

To be fair it can be extremely difficult to judge whether a player is in row 4 of the grandstand or in play when you and 3 other umpires and standing about 6 feet away with a perfect side on angle. :tearsofjoy:

They probably applied "common sense" to the situation much like when Warner torped the ball into the top row of the stand after the siren against us.

At this point I have the AFL in the same category as Trump, narcissistic personality disorder, just lie about everything, nothing ever their fault.

The reason why I think the club isn’t saying anything is because speaking out is a double-edged sword. You speak out and the umps will get offended. If they get offended, then it may make the situation worse. Just see what happened with James Hird speaking out against umpire Scott McLaren. McLaren then gave it to Essendon worse than before. The AFL don’t really care if umpires target your team, so speaking out may just end up a detriment to the team.

I definitely think their is a lot of stink on the umpiring & has been for a fair while. But i also reckon we can be poor with our discipline, clumsy & do give away way more free kicks than we should too. There is a big difference between the umpiring working a bit against you & it being the total root cause to why we haven't won another flag. This team has not been close to a flag quality team since 2020. That flag was a masterpiece, but it came at a huge, huge cost. It wasn't just Dimma's relationship, it was all of it. Rance retiring, Higgins brain & after surgery. Stack dramas the whole way. Kebabgate. The facial. The Hub. Then there was the physical toll. The boys had played a brutal style for 4 years straight and it caught up fast. There was absolutely no shame in us being at that point. There would be teases (2nd half of Doggies Game 2021), but rarely any sustained quality to think it was real. I agree the umpiring has been deliberately bad, that ARCgate was a total farce - but i still think this team has been around 5-12th since 2021 too & we should have seen the need to hold those picks if we were thinking clearly.

Well I don’t disagree with a lot of that tbh. We are one of the most undisciplined sides, which is why I don’t have much of an issue with how much free kicks we give away. My issue is more with how little we get back. It looks like teams become disciplined against us all of a sudden. But that’s not what I see when watching the game.

Something weird’s going on since 2017. The differential could be explained by our gamestyle when this strangeness first appeared, but I don’t think that’s the case right now.

But we’re obviously not where we are solely because of umpires of course. If the umpiring in our game was normal this year, then I doubt we would have been much higher. It’s just so frustrating to watch.
