Word has gone out to the umps “even it up a bit”
yep surprise surprise halfway thru the 3rd umps started rewarding our efforts and stopped giving cats the soft ones and we clawed back from a 15g flogging to a 6 goal reasonable loss. hocking obviously has photos of an umpires trip away without the wives.

The club need to ask some easy questions to the CFL. This game was a perfect example of paying all the frees that were there to the Cats, and being blind-sided for three quarters until they are forced to pay us our earned frees in the last. Even a dodgy one at the end. They have cheated all year against us.

It is that obvious now that oppo supporters are seeing it. We are umpired differently. It won't change until we ask the questions.

Free kicks

Geelong 21
Richmond 7
What that number fails to include is:
  • clear 15+ metre kicks where our marks are not played
  • 50m penalties not conceded by the oppo for moving after "STAND" or running into protected zone
  • centre bounces called back inside the circle because they favoured Nank
  • "advantages" called for oppo when our blokes have clearly stopped to avoid conceding a 50
All of which we also seem to cop the worst of.

They think we don't notice. But numbers do not tell lies.

Period 1.

13 games Geelong v Richmond up until the end of 2017, free kick count:

Geelong 272 free kicks v Richmond 262 free kicks

Cats averaged 20.92. Tigers averaged 20.15.

Cats won 7 free kick counts in that time. Richmond won 6
. You can only say that looks well within the normal range.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Period 2. The Hocking Era onwards.

Then at the end of 2017 before the start of the 2018 a certain Mr S Hocking arrives at AFL as Footy Ops boss. He is in charge of the umpiring department. Richmond are seen as the best team in the AFL and the main thing in the road of Geelong winning flags. The Cat infested media is screaming about the state of the game, and suggesting this is somehow Richmond's fault. hocking heads to AFL House to fix this.

13 Geelong v Richmond games since the current Geelong CEO arrived at AFL House in charge of the umps.

The free kick score since then in Geelong v Richmond games?

Geelong 261 free kicks v Richmond 200 free kicks

Geelong average 20.07 per game. Richmond average 15.38

Cats won 10 free kick counts, 8 of those by 5 or more. Richmond won 3 free kick counts. 2 of those by 1 solitary free kick.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

So we look at the two periods.

Cats period 1, 272 free kicks

Cats period 2, 261 free kicks

Tigers period 1, 262 free kicks

They all look like they belong together.

But curiously when Hocking went to the AFL, Geelong somehow became extremely disciplined and stopped giving away free kicks, but only against Richmond....

Tigers period 2, 200 free kicks.

So since the Cats took over the CFL the umps have magically found about 5 times per game to not pay a free kick to Richmond that would normally be paid. And we are asked to believe this is just random variance.

Cheats!!

This round in particular had proven it’s not just a Richmond issue it’s a league wide issue. Broadcasters are pulling Dillon’s strings. There’s no doubt the Broadcasters wanted interest in Wednesday nights game.
Lo and behold Port dominate the free kick count and win by a small margin. Now Wednesday night Suns Bombers game has meaning.
But the kicker is
They’ve now managed Collingwood into fourth with some dodgy calls for them to fall across the line against the demons. Guess who they’ll play? The Crows after the week they’ve just had.

Manufactured outcomes driven by the broadcasters.

There is zero integrity in the AFL

this is fake news, take it to the conspiracy board

Serious question: what law says that the AFL can’t cheat and manipulate the games? Maybe it’s not illegal
they are exempt from sports integrity australia cos its the 'national game' heavily funded by the government. they can do whatever they want

Too busy spending all their time investigating if someone says one word wrong.

The free kicks that annoyed me today were the ones their forwards got for holding and pushing, yet their defenders mauled Armstrong, Balta and Lynch and gave away peanuts until late. Lynch had his arms chopped and hacked at virtually every contest.

Then the deliberate call when the ball bounced at a right angle over.

The Gibcus deliberate when he slapped it over the line to avoid the Cat taking a juggled mark, but 15 mins later a Cats defender has an easy uncontested mark with no-one within 3m of him but just punches it straight over and nothing is called despite him deliberately choosing to kill the ball rather than mark it to keep it in play.

Plus all the high frees that they got, when playera like Mansell, Seth, MJ and Sonsie get taken high and nothing.

The consistency in interpretation was shit.

Wonder why I spend more time watching the Montreal Canadiens (and the NHL in general) more than the AFL these days?! AFL is over umpired, ridiculously inconsistent, totally mystefying most of the time - and of course the bewildering rule changes. Combine this all together and you can see why a great game has been turned into a bit of a farce.....

10-2 free kick count (plus 1-0 50m penalties) at quarter time was the dagger. The stats were pretty much even regarding inside 50s, contested ball, clearances. Thought we actually played pretty well but just couldn't get much connection going forward. However we found ourselves 5 goals down, umps going in dry, and just killing any chance of a competitive game.

Funny I wasn’t watching the game at that stage as we were at a family event. I like to look at the team stats to get an indication how well playing and I looked and went, what’s going on how are we 5 goals down when the stats actually look promising if not quite good. Then I looked at the free kick count. Oh!

Which is exactly what they were trying to achieve.

Centre bounces went out of the circle frequently, when they did it was always on the Richmond side. Geelong got at least a couple of free kicks just because the umpire couldn’t bounce the ****ing ball straight.

Not to mention all the centre bounces where their mids were holding ours before the ball was rucked, the marks they got paid pushing our players in the back, the goal Kmac didn’t spoil despite none of the farc cameras giving a picture clear enough to overturn the goal umps decision, the boy oh boy wowee all time low insufficient intent kick that bounced at right angles, geelong players consistently encroaching the mark, and dangerfield getting a free for shrugging off tackles from two of our players.

The media will also try and attempt to ram down the public throat that free kicks are not vital and dont have an impact on games.
A free kick is the equivalent of winning a contested ball with a clean clearance and usually long meters gained . All stats that that are vital to win games . Winning a free kick count by 20 is the equivalent of a player running around winning 20 contested balls .Dont even start me on 50’s.
The media puppets AFL propaganda is sickening at times 🤡
