This. If it takes more than 10-15 seconds to deem something conclusive/inconclusive, it should stick with the Umpires Call, especially when the technology is shit.

As I have posted previously, I now hardly watch any game other than our games after following the sport for over 50 years. I am tired of the crap umpiring across the board, the constant rule changes and the reamings we get on a weekly basis. The rule that I hate the most is STAND, STAND, ****ing STAND. I am seriously turned off how the game is now managed in all its facets. In fact, if I stopped watching AFL now I wouldn't miss it.

As an non-Victorian member I am questioning whether I should continue my membership. Before I renew this year I might ask the club the question of what they are doing to stop the biased umpiring against us. My son no longer watches the game and follows the NBA.

This is too true and so sad how our game is being ruined

No amount of AFL spin or bullshit can defend that ....but then again everyone bought into the Lynch finals goal review with the secret vision that was never f##king seen

Same here...never watch any AFL game on TV...
Not wasting my time and health watching rigged sport matches...
NRL and Melbourne Storm for me at the moment...

Wait until you recieve a member's survey, and when filling it out, mention the umpire corruption. I have done it 3 years in a row, and I was called (possibly at random, or due to my feedback about the umpiring) by a RFC membership rep twice.

The club are very much aware of the lop sided umpiring and have asked the AFL in at least 2 of the last 3 years for clarification of the standard of umpiring at RFC games. In fact, they were aware prior to the 2017 flag, but didn't pursue it any further due to our success. Now that we are in rebuild mode, it continues, so by pursuing it now - we have nothing to lose (but the free kick count)...

I'd encourage everyone to reach out to the club - they do listen, and they are aware of our concerns. I'm not sure why it has not changed, but the more we address the issue, the more we "might" expect change.
 
How come Dimma speaks out for GCS during the week, but not when he was at RFC?

only got to look at season averages in the free kick column. generally, any team we play receives substantially more freekicks than they average throughout the year. either corruption exists (i just cant really understand why? why kick one of your biggest money spinners?) or there's some kind of unconscious bias, possibly our colours? that results in umpires ignoring free kicks for and paying everything they can against.

The really noticeable statistical changes occurred from 2018 onwards, when Hocking went to work for the AFL to further Geelong's interests, before returning to the Cats as their CEO. This was exactly the moment Chris Scott and Whately etc were bemoaning the state of the game and pronouncing with authority that Richmond played rubbish football compared to other Premiership teams - despite us winning all 3 finals by a minimum of 6 goals.

It is so obvious Hocking did all he could to hamper Richmond and benefit the Cats, and it continues unchecked to this day.

The AFL “integrity unit” investigating its own mess is a joke, it’s like marking your own exam and giving yourself an A+. You can’t police yourself and expect the public to swallow it. 🙄
