It's funny how the count always begins to even out. I FN hate this league fair dinkum.
Yeah one team suddenly learns to tackle I see a rugby league player arrested for

1 drugs
2 betting anomalies

How long before an AFL player gets done

Match Fixing is alive and well but Australians are in denial

Wait until you recieve a member's survey, and when filling it out, mention the umpire corruption. I have done it 3 years in a row, and I was called (possibly at random, or due to my feedback about the umpiring) by a RFC membership rep twice.

The club are very much aware of the lop sided umpiring and have asked the AFL in at least 2 of the last 3 years for clarification of the standard of umpiring at RFC games. In fact, they were aware prior to the 2017 flag, but didn't pursue it any further due to our success. Now that we are in rebuild mode, it continues, so by pursuing it now - we have nothing to lose (but the free kick count)...

I'd encourage everyone to reach out to the club - they do listen, and they are aware of our concerns. I'm not sure why it has not changed, but the more we address the issue, the more we "might" expect change.

I don't normally complete the member surveys but i did last year for the first time due to my building frustration with the umpiring. I specifically mentioned the umpiring issue and can't remember receiving any feedback from the club.

Thanks.I will look out for the survey and reply accordingly.

Hahaha the secrecy is starting to be lifted first the NRL , now the CFL

Victorian police have charged four men with alleged suspicious gambling on the AFL's Brownlow Medal best and fairest award in 2021 and 2022.

Officers have laid a total of 103 charges against the men, including use of corrupt information for betting purposes and undertaking a course of conduct to obtain financial advantage by deception.

The charges were laid after a 'protracted investigation,' Victoria Police said in a statement on Tuesday morning.

The Age is reporting former umpire charged after Brownlow betting probe. Nothing to see here… There is no corruption in this sport…. Umpiring is fair and objective…. Richmond are not unfairly treated…. Ha ha ha ha, the CFL thinks we are all idiots
Oh wow im shocked

The really noticeable statistical changes occurred from 2018 onwards, when Hocking went to work for the AFL to further Geelong's interests, before returning to the Cats as their CEO. This was exactly the moment Chris Scott and Whately etc were bemoaning the state of the game and pronouncing with authority that Richmond played rubbish football compared to other Premiership teams - despite us winning all 3 finals by a minimum of 6 goals.

It is so obvious Hocking did all he could to hamper Richmond and benefit the Cats, and it continues unchecked to this day.
Steve Hocking is on record for stating the "stand" rule was in direct response to Trent Cotchin and the manning of the mark in our back half tactics of forcing the defenders wide creating the chaos ball movement right back in our forward 50.

There is an abundance of evidence that Hocking changed the rules to curtail our imminent domination of the competition on the back of Dimma's tactics, our current list and Dusty. Everything pointed to at least 3 flags unless changes were made to curtail it asap. Hocking having an understanding of Geelong's ageing list, simply slowed the game down to benefit Geelong and later Collingwood (but that was more natural than manufactured).

Also, the continuation of the Fixture allowing interstate teams to get belted down at Kardinia Park, and teams such as Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon never venturing anywhere near Geelong for decades.

One of the camera angles of the 2020 GF half time break showed Hocking talking to Geelong officials at length, before he moved to designated Umpires dugout. He probably thought his job was done as the following year the rules were bent against us - again. Never been done in any sport to my knowledge.

Having said that - the "Dropping the ball" was brough in to stop Kevin Bartlett from bouncing the ball when being tackled, and the Joel Bowden "forced behind" when he used the tactic to waste time VS Essendon. So there is precedence of rules being "created" against Tiger players...

Time to correct this permanently? Forget the secrecy. Post the results week by week. No surprise on the night - keep the Rising Star a surprise, but turn the night into a celebration of Aussie Rules. Bring grass roots clubs into it as well - cover their achievements and highlights. Limit the corporate reach, take control of the gambling side - and win.
The Brownlow needs a re-think. Veering it away from one-two possession count dominants might help as well

can you imagine a CEO from the new England patriots or Chicago bulls going to work for their respective head organizations (NFL or NBA), and then coming back to their clubs after changing some rules, and then those clubs won championships with an overtly aging playing list. It just wouldn't happen in a big sporting code over there, so why did we allow this to happen to our game? it is beyond ridiculous how we've allowed such a conflict of interest to happen in our code.

Why is there no separation from head office to club land? why has this not been made a big deal?

Separately, but also sort of relevant - why did Channel 9 not get the TV rights when they bid substantially more money? You'll notice 7 and Foxtel NEVER rag on the sport, they clearly selected partners that protect the brand and thus protect themselves from uproar. Any journalist with a shred of drive would be asking hard questions RE the above, but strangely all is quiet.

Unbelievably corrupt organization.

Hocking in the dugout is our very own Zapruder film. I’m pretty sure though he was behind the grassy knoll.

Rule changes brought in for specific players: Toby Greene’s karate kick marks, Branden Maynard Rule, Dermott Brereton ironing out guys 30 metres off the ball. They’re just three off the top of my head. The Deliberate Rushed Behind Rule was in response to Hawthorn’s 2008 GF tactics.

Handling of Noah Balta Assault?

The bloke missed 12 matches for an incident that happened nowhere near a footy field.

Andrew Gaff literally broke a bloke's jaw and knocked out three teeth and only got 8 weeks. On the field of play. And didn't have his arse dragged through the courts or cop a curfew, a fine or an 18-month corrections order.

Well it's been ridiculous for years. But when we are so far down it just looks stupid.

The club should ... whatever. This should be a public issue. But the media is not interested, and 17 other clubs don't care. Eventually whatever the source of this is should go away. But

Are those from the fox sports site? Cause they differ wildly from some others just fyi. The AFL website (AFL tables and footywire are also pretty much the same) have us with an average FF of 17.2 and 18.4 FA. Admittedly we still have the lowest FF (why do teams always magically play so clean against us...) but it's not as bad as your table.

Yep, I got the numbers from Fox Footy. I’ll redo them. Thanks for pointing that out 👍

New numbers using Footywire. It doesn’t look too bad for us with accurate numbers
