Is it just me or am i the only one that thinks we didnt get the better of the umpiring ? There were at least 5 instances of blatant mistakes from the umps that should have gone our way.
1. Jack getting his head ripped off
2. Cotrell front on contact that resulted in a goal to Mackay in same phase of play
3. Bolton chase down in last quarter blatant holding the ball
4. Mackay second grab mark after being touched by 2 other sets of hands
5. Cripps on at least 4 occasions throwing the ball

Blues fans whinging for what ? Broad touching the ball ? IT WAS TOUCHED !!!
Media whinging all week about that controversy which wasn't a controversy in the first place yet we hear crickets about the umpiring yesterday.
Media are a joke except for Warner, time for another book about the boy's club.

What is it with AFL and umpires

Players cannot query a penalty
Players cannot show any emotion over an umpire of decision
Players cannot touch an umpires
Coaches cannot complain about umpiring
Media says very little about poor umpiring

Why are umpires so sacred?
They only whinge about umpires when Richmond get one.
Appalling the way they carried on last week about the twinkly fingers, they will hide last night's umpiring under the carpet.

So no word by the dictatorship organisation why play went on for 3 minutes player is out cold not one but 3 umpires showed no duty of care to make a common sense decision. The game was stopped from cats kick out when Baker was on the ground bewildering.

Been saying for long time umpires are protected species and have no accountability enough of this BS we don't have umpires at junior level and it's not a great look have a look at soccer referees there made accountable and coaches can talk about them in press not under this dictatorship.

And we are the side with the reputation of being 'dirty' playing close to the edge...
Yet the cats in three of our games have pushed Soldo out to an ACL...knocked out Vloss in a GF...knocked out Meatball...and we lose the free kick count for dirty play!

This is what I find so intriguing about the POS scumps.

The free kick was not paid to Prestia for an off the ball high hit, however the free was paid to graham for the hold by duckwood. But when JR8 took that mark in the final 5 minutes lynch was supposedly holding de konning (both players holding each other) but they managed to see that off the ball incident and reverse the mark.

It's pretty obvious the scumpires are selective in what off the ball incidents they want to look and adjudicate.

Just to correct some people here, commentators might've misled the free kick narrative regarding the Prestia incident.

If you listen to the umpire explaining to Selwood, you can hear him say "down field free", which you can only assume is for the Prestia high.

26- 13 free kick with some of the dodgiest and easy free kicks to Geelong in prime areas of the ground. Either in front of goal or centre bounce. Sorry Richmond, love ya, but have no interest in watching this joke of a sport. Umpires wins games. It is that simple. I only have a certain amount of time on this earth, watching this s**t is a waste of time. Really hope the AFL go bust.

The average game of AFL this year has 43.08 frees paid. We sit last on the ladder with an average of 19.4 frees for and 24.5 frees against. This stat just goes against the narrative that we play in a way that gives away more frees. If Richmond was adjudicated like other teams then the free kicks per game should be higher.

If Richmond did just play a game that gave away more frees then our numbers should look as follows. Say we got the average amount of frees across the comp (21.54) then our average free kicks per game would be 46.05 per game (6% higher than average). This is the only way the "Richmond play a game that gives away more frees" argument holds any water.

9.3. PREVENTING A PLAYER TAKING PART IN THE NEXT ACT OF PLAY If a Player intentionally makes Prohibited Contact against an opposition Player who has disposed of the football for the purpose of preventing that Player from taking part in the next act of play, the field Umpire shall award a Free Kick and a Fifty Metre Penalty to that Player.
Just to correct you. As above,

the correct rule and penalty should have applied. Our ass should be 50 metres down the field with a free kick on goal, with due care to get Dion off the ground.

What actually happened was, Bend Over Boys, Graham kick, shotgun play on, 5m from a Player who intentionally made Prohibited Contact against an opposition Player who has disposed of the football for the purpose of preventing that Player from taking part in the next act of play

Just making the point that a free kick was in fact paid to Prestia, as opposed to what others have said.

Whether the procedures were correctly taken in the process of setting up the free kick is a different conversation.

On this occasion the umpire stopped play immediately, and actively cleared the area around the injured player. Later the Cat’s trainers called for the stretcher. But am I wrong or did the umpires seem to treat this situation very differently even before the stretcher was called for?

Most definitely. The fact that the AFL have ticked off the decision and explained that there was "no suitable time to stop play" despite about 4 or 5 instances of marks/free kicks happening astounds me.

idiot umpires also let play continue in the gold coast v port game on the weekend while they were kicking it back and forward into the 50 right over the top of multiple players on the ground and like 5 runners/medical staff lol. they were blocking a huge space in the left of the f50

it's like they have been brainwashed to force goals and reduce stoppages so much that they won't even do their job properly any more

Been listening to SEN and Kane Cornes has a petition to get rid of the protected area below is the link:

No suitable time ?….. that is a f##king cop out …. Utter BS on the AFL’s part

No suitable time?
FFS are those whistles painted on? Blow the ******* thing and stop play.
What is wrong with these people and who signs off on this bullshit?

Ranked 18th for free kicks received
-72.

Nank and Shai in the top 5 for frees against.

No players for frees to in the top 10.

Lynch imo gets the harshest treatment from the umps in the competition. Is continually rag dolled.

🙏
Lynch for the season, 13 frees for 23 against (12 games). Harry McKay 24 for, 12 against (11 games).
Reckon you might be on to something.
