I've just watched that free on the half time siren ...forget the 50m....I cannot for the life of me work out what the free-kick was for.....they plucked that out of nowhere or the umpire was guessing that something happened .....someone please tell me what it was for ......it's just bullshit !!!

Read has the ump stuffed up's terrible non sensical take on it - Dow slowed the game down after the siren, so gave Richmond an advantage somehow!

If we win the free kicks in any game this year I wanna see a Swan Street Premiership like party celebration ! Thousands of fans blocking the streets and partying on til dawn. I reckon we're closer to a Premiership than we are to winning the free kick count for a game. It's now become the norm that we get shafted every week.

Imagine if the free kick count was 20-11 against the Eagles in Perth. They would tear the stadium down. Imagine if their free kick differential over 7 years was minus 500 ! They would withdraw from the competition stating Vicbias.

The difference between us and the doggies over that 5 years stretch is essentially one less free kick, EVERY quarter, of EVERY game, from EVERY season over those 5 years

It's gonna be weird rewatching games from this era after they finally get rid of STAND. It's such a ridiculous part of the game having them yell STAND all the time and then all the silly rules around how to STAND and when you can stop STANDING. What an unnecessary and stupid addition to the game that has been. Utter clowns in charge.

Worst rule in my 50 years playing, coaching and watching the game. It's turned me off, that and the horrendously inconsistent umpiring and I'm just about done with the game that has been my life's passion for half a century.

Edit: the thing I find the most galling is that the Gill/Dill roadshow, backed up by sycophantic media trollops like Wakeley and Co are saying the game is in fantastic shape. I guess if they keep saying it enough then the perception is that it's true. They really believe that the game was bad when we were winning - remember "state of the game"? - and that their infantile rule changes have made for a better product. FMD.

Regarding crowd numbers being high - I put that down to perennial (B4 Club) losers Carton and Essendon finally looking like they've got their crap together and (much like us 17 - 20+) zillions of latent fans came out of the woodwork sniffing a flag. Because as a spectacle the game is far worse now. Of course the cruel irony is that the players are supposedly so much fitter and stronger and better (across the board) but the game more resembles netball or basketball.

Need the cheer squad to walk out. An empty stand behind the goals would be hard to overlook on TV.

We went okay against them last year only -5 across two matches (17-20 and 22-20)

I'm going with "Those stats would be an outlier though, generally the umpires do a fantastic job so i doubt there is any direct bias happening here". Then he will show some footage on the weekend of a decision that backs up the umpires doing a good job.

20-11 free kick count doesn't include the non paid so in effect Fremantle enjoyed an approx 29-11 count if you want to even it out.

If we lose it by 9 we actually lose by it by 18.

This is actually the reality of our games.
