The idea of the whinge was to get a better run with the umpires as so far this year we have had the worst frees for/against ratio in the league.

Do it privately and it would have had more of an impact.

I would like to distance myself from this crap as bad as the umpiring was they have been crap for all sides all year.
It is OUR fault we play crap along the boundary shit
It is OUR fault we went easy on Ryder
It is OUR fault we cant put together a four quarter game of football
It is OUR fault we don't win the games we should win

That was a deplorable effort today and from someone who was very optimisitic at the start of the year I can't see anything but another average year where we're left wondering what could of been.

Essendon copped a few hard calls in that final quarter too. A 'throw' in the centre gave the Pies a soft free, and one Magpie dropped the ball in Essendon's 50 without being penalised. Bombers deserved the win, umpiring not an issue from the perspective of a neutral supporter.

If the umpires were as "neutral" as you I wouldn't mind. I stand to be corrected but I don't think we've been on the positive end of the free kick count in any game this season.

Not really, most people wouldn't go on Big Footy. I'd imagine any stigma would be being directed at Malthouse and co. Any team's supporters that has a bad run with the ump's is going to complain. It's human nature.

You only had to watch the desperation with which the ball was moved from Essendon's backline into their forwardline in that last play. They ran it down with an intensity that couldn't quite be matched by the Pies when it counted. It was a fantastic game, and it just so happened that in the crunch, Essendon came up with the goods. I don't think Collingwood were 'lazy,' Essendon just played with almost 100% dedication from all players in those last few minutes to clinch it. Also, listing free kick stats means nothing, it simply means the Pies infringed more than Essendon did. That's about it from me, thanks to Collingwood and Essendon for putting on an awesome display.

We should have been pinged a couple of times for holding the ball. The Rocca one was technically correct, as you can't push anymore. Disgraceful rule, but thats the way it goes.

Free kick count is the worst stat to use. if a team deserves the kicks they receive them. Do you think the umpires should not pay holding the ball against us if the other team already has more free kicks than us.

The Rocca one was shithouse, but apart from that the umpiring was ok. We can't blame the umps for losing this one, even after the Rocca decision we should have been able to hold on.

Umpiring had nothing to do with the loss today. Essendon wanted it more, deserved it more, and got it.

Rubbish. There was no way that it should have been 15 free kicks to 8 free kicks, and not only should Rocca's goal have stood, but it most definitely should not have been a free kick and a 50 metre penalty. Of course Essendon were desperate and wanted to win more, but that does not give the umpires the right to pay the touchy free kicks to Essendon and to overlook the touchy free kicks that didn't go to Collingwood.

Where did you get that from? It was not even at all! Essendon received 15-8 free kicks in a match that should not have been so lopsided. Essendon got their touchy frees. Collingwood did not. It was the second time that the umpires have had a direct bearing on a Collingwood loss under a goal and it was the seond time this season that the umpires had a direct bearing on an Essendon win under a goal.
