Can anyone explain why we seem to be on the wrong end of the umpiring a lot.

Parts of it are from umpiring. However, I believe we genuinely haven't been playing well tonight. Free kicks to the Bulldogs are a result of our sloppyness in general. Nothing to do with the umpires really.........

I said this in another thread. The 21 frees that the doggies got were all fine. They were mostly there. It's the constant times their was a clear free for us yet the umpires 'missed' them.

Yep had me stumped too , keeffe had one arm up so I thought he was getting held .

I haven't been so frustated watching a game as i was tonite - the umpiring was a joke...we could not buy free kick in the 1st qtr... honestly i believe this was why the game was much closer than it should have been.

That ump No 17 must have paid every free kick against us tonite...

That umpire #17 (Schmidt) is one of the worst I have ever seen, just about all the tiggy-touchwood holding frees were paid by him.

I am generally concerned about the way the umpiring is going. Jeff Gieschen coming out and 99.9% of the time publicly endorsing decisions does not send the right message that the umpires are trying to improve. I have major concerns over Cloke's treatment, as apparently he is so big and strong he doesn't need any help from the umps. It is extremely frustrating, I don't mind if they are a little more lenient in marking contests but they have to DO IT BOTH WAYS. Overall the inconsistency is just irritating me.

Certainly tonight was one of the most sub-standard displays I have ever seen.

Yeah I would have to say that was easily the worst umpiring I have seen this year out of the 46 games I've seen so far this year.
Those umpires would wanna be careful being so obviously pathetic at their "job" because a death threat is the last thing they would want, but knowing how feral some of the mob are, the umps were not far away from pushing the envelope tonight.

Apparently Cloke can be held and have another dog make front on contact and nothing, while Giansiracusa holds onto Brown I think it was and yet Giansiracusa got the free, which resulted in a goal.

They're first 2 goals were from direct free kicks, umps have too much control, wouldn't care if they got it right 95% of the time, but they ****ing don't and it makes the game ****ing shit, the ****ing inconsistencies every ****ing game, not just Collingwood games, every game. **** the umps off and just let the players play.

When the whistle went, Cometti called it as a Pies free, then when he realised it was a Dogs free he responded with a loud "WHAT!!".

Terrible display of umpiring, thankfully all it cost us was a little percentage, not 4 premiership points.
