3 business men go to a restraunt and have a meal.

Each meal costs $10.00

They each give the waitress $10 and the waitress hands the $30.00 to the manager.

The manager tells the waitress to give the business men $5.00 dollars back.

On the way back to the table the waitress decides to pocket $2.00 and gives each business man $1.00

This means each business man has paid $9.00 for their meal

$9.00 * 3 = $27.00

$27.00 + the $2.00 the waitress pockets = $29.00

Where is the missing dollar

You got teh sign wrong at the end there.

$27 - the $2 the waitress pockets = the $25 that the meal costs. :)

see if that's that-> we can do this

is the cat dead? or not dead?

the answer is the cat is both dead and alive at the same time, but in different universes

in bigfooty we obey the laws of quantum physics!

Some of my favourite's.

You can imagine an arrow in flight, toward a target. For the arrow to reach the target, the arrow must first travel half of the overall distance from the starting point to the target. Next, the arrow must travel half of the remaining distance. For example, if the starting distance was 10m, the arrow first travels 5m, then 2.5m. If you extend this concept further, you can imagine the resulting distances getting smaller and smaller. Will the arrow ever reach the target, if so, why?

Once upon a time, and old lady went to sell her vast quantity of eggs at the local market.

When asked how many she had, she replied:

Son, I can't count past 100 but I know that.

If you divide the number of eggs by 2 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 3 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 4 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 5 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 6 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 7 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 8 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 9 there will be one egg left.
If you divide the number of eggs by 10 there will be one egg left.

Finally. If you divide the Number of eggs by 11 there will be NO EGGS left!

How many eggs did the old lady have?

And kudos to anyone that can work all of these out. All words in the English language with the first four letter missing.

How far do you have to travel to reach the North Pole, if you start from the equator and always head North West?

Study this paragraph and all things in it. What is vitally wrong with it? Actually, nothing in it is wrong, but you must admit that it is most unusual. Don't just zip through it quickly, but study it scrupulously. With luck you should spot what is so particular about it and all words found in it. Can you say what it is? Tax your brains and try again. Don't miss a word or a symbol. It isn't all that difficult?

Heh, that's cute. But hardly unanswerable. :p

One of Zeno's paradoxes, I like it too.
