Remember Barry Brooks was swapped for a number 8 pick (which subsequently became number 6), when all he'd done was get picked at 10 (maybe later?) and sat on Port's list for a year.
St. Kilda were ripped off then, especially as the power ended up with Salopek.

Doughty and our 1st round pick for a top 5 pick is a fair trade IMO
Sounds fair I reckon. Doughty would be a walk up start to Carlton side and they get a first round draft pick which they can use to land another pacy midfielder. If they are smart enough they could get a gun with that pick and still have a player that will improve them straight away and still has some good 8 years of footy left in him.

And we get Fergus Watts with a top 5 pick. As hard as ruckman are to find, I would rather take a dominant CHF. I managed to get some tapes of WA games of U/18 Championships and had a good look at Kepler Bradley. I reckon he is overrated a bit. No question he is a good project but there is just something about him that doesn't convince me. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be another Josh Fraser:eek:

I think Brooks was pick 15. I think Port also got pick 35 (???) from Saints in the same trade.

Port then traded their Pick 15 anlong with pick 35 (???) they got from Saints for Pickett.

I think top 10 pick mentioned earlier is really pushing it, when you consider a proven player and Brownlow Medalist was swapped for pick (16?).

Draft pick 16 for Woewodin was a joke and a testimony to the mismanagement of the Melbourne Football club.

Collingwood r*ped the Demons on that deal who look like absolute fools.

No way could you use that as the standard for future trades.

Adelaide will probably have around draft pick 16 this year. Interested in trading Coughlan for that??

This is how highly we rate Coughlan I doubt we would trade him in a direct swap for Judd, well I wouldn't anyway.
And that completes the proof of macca23's point. ;)

On that point I have heard this Judd-Coughlan trade mentioned before (both players returning to their home states). IMO the trade would be lose-lose. The players WCE & Richmond currently have suit their respective sides better.

I agree with this point. Last thing Richmond need is a reciever (Judd), and West Coast have a few in and under midfielders (Coughlan) and are greatly complememted by a pacy outside player. Would be a lose-lose situation for sure.

What can we offer Carlton for their priority picks??? They need some young midfielders with a bit of pace. Would they bite for Gallagher / Doughty and our 1st round pick for their priority pick??????

no - to get the priority pick you would need to give an absolute gun plus another

Ok then you can go with out a ruckman...have Marsh(mellow) as your backup ruckman when clarke or biglands is injured.... who would you want for reilly?
Drew Petrie would be very handy at the Crows. ;)

Interesting you call Judd a receiver when at the start of the round he was in the top 5 in the league for hard ball gets.

That's exactly right, Judd ain't no receiver, he's 'The Package'. Complete and all round.

I say we go get him. Very impressed with him this year. Would be a good FB and Bassett could move to back pocket.

Thoughts??????
Haddrill is alright but Bassett is equally as good; very similar players. We need a taller defender.
