I think some words of wisdom are required!
assessment so far;
Westy appear to be close to full strength most weeks, and it is possible to have a shocker every now and again, full credit to hold onto a win when these days occur, conditions prob would have suited jacana but westy good enough (just) to hold on. Westy will finish 1st
I think its time for clubs and people to show respect to Haddi...go 2 big scalps now wit Syd/Hill and T/Lakes, i thinks its time some teams start to show this mob a bit of respect, they could finsh 5th
T/Lakes will finish 2-3 mabye due to not being fully switched on could cost them 1-2 when giving players to the seniors....but wont matter, still be very strong/favourites come finals
Syd/Hill with 6 players in senoirs and 1 at jets, seem to be (after this weeks games) the inform team....but will they gel come finals time, when they havent played many u18s games...to much ego??
Roxy need saad and pantane to play the games of there life to beat the 3 teams above them
It will be interesting toward the end of the season...but dont right off jacana, glenroy and p/vale for 5th spot.. (paco will be strong with there players back from calder and seniors)

A very exciting finals series coming up. It would seem that the top 4 are set, and will produce the eventual winner, however looking at the draw it will be out of Jacana & Haddy for 5th spot. It could all be decided in two weeks when they play each other at Haddy. Jacana should win the other 4 games and Haddy has to play Westy & SH both of which will be building for the finals by then. Haddy is also 2 games clear in the five so if Jacana win all 5 and Haddy lose to Jacana, SH & Westy - Jacana's in. I don't think Glenroy can make it and Pacco don't get their players back from the Cannons enough to win all 5 games.

Westy would be my favorite at the moment, the big open spaces of the finals grounds will suit their style of play better than the others. I have only seen SH once, probably with out their full squad and together with TL, have the ability to win if they can shut down some of Westy's runners and have more contested balls. Roxy are also a good side but poor showings against TL and Westy would leave a question mark. Haddy is a smokey to get through the first two weeks but not quite up to making the big one.
 
all the hype for westy at this current time!!!.....Are they capable????......Finals is a different game, wont be as free running as they wish.
 
i agree it will be a very exciting finals series coming up, hadfield and jacana both deserve 5th spot but it will all depend on thei clash in 2 weeks time. expect freo to get haddy over the line
westy are favourites and will prove it this week with a win over S/H
 
westy were full strength last year all year, and were found out when other teams got players back for finals to make them stronger..same will happen this year with sydenham and roxy getting players back come finals. ill back a repeat of last years grand final roxy sydenham, and sydenham will get up again:thumbsu:
 
dont under-estimate westy they are a different side to last year
only about 5 polayers from last years side are playing now
the team they have now has won 4 premierships together so they are very capable
 
Was speaking wit the folk at syd/hill and word is, no senior players down this week to the 18s and tancredi and abela are unlikely to play, they may call on 1 or 2 u16s to help them out. dunno bout there 16s stock tho they sittin 6th with no chance on finals
 
yeah ive heard that about s/h aswell
might be that way for a few weeks
might sour the top of the table clash

Airport west vs hadfield. Hadfield by 100 points
Jacana vs east keilor. Jacana by 80 points
Roxy vs saints. Roxy by 60 points
Tulla vs valleys. Tulla by 20 points
Pascoe vale vs keilor park. Pascoe vale by 100 points
Taylors lakes vs glenroy. Taylors by 50 points
Westy vs sydenham. Westy by 50 points

Any reason you think AW will get closeish to Haddy?

Jacana vs. EK - Jacana way too good win by 50
Hadfield vs. AW - Hadfield too good but dont think they can thrash a team, especially without freo!!! win by 36
TL vs. Glenroy - Lakers should get up but wont win by more than 7 goals
Pacco vs. KP - Pacco by 80 enough said
RP vs.NS - RP by 15 points
Tulla vs. Moonee - Moonee by 20
Westy vs. SH - Westy too good win by 90+ in an anti climax :thumbsdown:

Its just a gut feeling. AW could catch them napping early in the game and the weather could make it tricky for both teams. Haddi could also have a flat spot coming off last weeks great win, but they should be good enough to get over the line:thumbsu:

no upsets this week.
Westy, Roxy and Taylors won convincingly
Hadi and Jacana seemed to be too strong....but big test this week when they play eachother!!!!.....winner will take 5th spot.......Tulla and paco are just behind but poor % might cost them tho
Top 3 sides all very eaisly......seemed like the top of the table clash was a bit of a climax syd/hill giving minimal resistance... 23 scoring shots to 15, preety poor effort

i think not, s/h gave it everything but had no answers for westy's runners

Can anyone explain how the finals series is going to work this year .. ?? Hadfield v Jacana match will seal up the top 5 for the year u wood think
 
Regarding Syd / Hill this year, and i do not offer this as an excuse, but we do have 9 players in our senior team to come back and play finals, ads and zane our 2 top forwards didnt play, so we can only improve.

We only got beat by 6 goals, by a team allegedly only missing 1 player (this was straight from my opponent).

Despite what some people have said, West are a good side and i look forward to playing them again in the finals, and hopefully adding to the medal i got last year - FROM FIFTH!!!!!!

go look at the team sheets and you'll see that prob there 3 best didnt play (westy)

WEEK 1
4 vs 5 (only winner progresses)
2 v 3
1st - week off

WEEK 2
1) 4/5 v loser of 2/3 (only winner progresses)
2) 1 v wineer of 2/3 (winner of this game straight to GF)

WEEK 3
winner of g1 and loser og g2 of the above games play off for final spot in the GF

WEEK 4
last 2 teams remaining = GF
