They will be stopped by Xavs who have a boom new recruit on the cards and only weeks away from playing after a lay off from injury which saw his AFL chances dented. He will come back through unders, get his 5 games and probably win the flag for them.

"champion team always beats a team of champions"

All i have read for two years is xavs talking themselves up on this forum. please boys, let the footy do the talking. One player will not win them a flag, reminds me a little of the apparent 'noon show' that was ment to take place on last years grand final....everyone missed that show.

On a lighter note saw Tom McMahon made his debut in the blue and gold how did he go? Seen him play a fair bit at Sandringham very big and very good.
Whens murphy and pollard back?

Tommy Mac just being eased back in. Very limited game time as the match was over before half time. Pollard and Hunt entrenched in the seniors and doubt they will be back. According to one poster a full strength St Bedes was going to knock off DLS and now on the back of one player Xavs are going to do likewise. Is RR prepared to name this superstar? Genuine Xavs people must cringe when they read this rubbish.

Who may be this boom new recruit be? Old Xav's won't even be in a position to stop De La as Old Scotch are a better side and will finish above Xavs on the ladder.

Agreed, seen both teams, scotch seemed to bother de la more.

Rooster you didnt mention about Xavier Murphy? and where has Damien Hale been?

Not sure about Murphy. Injured round 1 in the seniors and has not played since. Hopefully back soon. Hale probably gone for the year. Was a star in A grade last year so a huge blow for the kid and the club.

The Noon Show has been playing in the seniors all year, if you tune into the results you'll see he's dominated; in the bests every week besides the De La game. The Noon Show will also be playing during the rep game, should get along to that for an encore performance. We may be all talk, but you must appreciate the divinity of The Noon Show

Injuries? Sickness???

How many changes were there then? Please elaborate on the above dribble...

Uni jumped Xavs through a couple of good players but were then totally outplayed for 3 quarters of footy... Not to mention that they couldn't miss at goal for the entire first half.

All in all, Uni got Shlapped.

All 3 emergencies had to be called in on the morning of the game, which meant 3 key players were dropped.

And yes Xavier did dominate the last 3 quarters, however it was not just the good play of Xavs that saw them do that, Blues thought they had won the game! The half forward line was not working hard enough either and therefore Xavier were able to set up their whole play from the half back line and consequently won the game.

I didnt ask for a "Where is he now" nor did i say he was a bad player, was just pointing it out that One player wont win it for Xavier and that in the past they have been very reliant on there star players.

I think you'll find the reliance on certain players is not really there this year, hence the fact that they havn't missed Stean, Noonan or Lees.

Not to mention a few others who havn't played much footy this year and they're still getting the job done, minor a weird hiccup against Old Marcellin and a bad 2nd half against De La.

Scotch are a big threat...

well lets be honest Noonan was never going to play, just like Muller who is eligable for De La but wont play nor will Johnny Nicollopolous , Stean's playing well in the Seniors so doubt xavs will see him. Both Xavs and De La are both missing gun players, if both teams had all eligable players they would clearly be the two best teams in the comp. but they must be reliant on the cattle they put out, hence why i was disagreeing with the first comment that Xavs have a bloke who didnt get drafted due to injury? but will win them the premiership?

Also Read through a few team sheets...Welcome back big bonnadio to de la!

I said watch this space...

I cant give a name yet but lets just say he may soon be over his cronic injury and eased back for a couple of games at Old Xavs and it will be well known that he is there when he is named. New to the club but not to those in footy circles.

stay tuned.

So he’s not even an Old Xav’s boy? If that’s the best you’ve got RR I don’t think I’ll bother watching this space. To use your words he may soon be over his chronic injury and eased back for a couple of games. This description not likely to fill the rest of the comp with fear and if he is as good as you say then I doubt he will be around for long anyway.

Fair enough, you just said you "Missed the noon show" in last years grand final, just letting you know where you can catch it. As for relying on key players, who dosen't in the unders? De la still rely on humphries and clinchy, as they did with Muller last year. Most clubs have thier star players that need to fire, saying that one player will a flag is ill-concieved, however; i think most teams are "reliant on there star players," not just the X-men

are u talking about ambrose?

As in Murphy?

Doubt he was ever in draft calculations? may have played a few games in the Seniors last year for Bendigo but no Superstar...Super runner well built but wont win them a premiership off the back of his boot, would think if he did play, once fit he would be back in the bendigo twos. Saw his younger brothers kicked a few Xavs. I Could see a mouth watering class between T. Humphrey v P. Ambrose and B. Humphrey v M. Ambrose
( Fun Fact : All former Salesian Boys )

A bet Salesian would have been filthy at losing that quartet. Obviously the Murphy’s to Xavs and the Humphrey boys to De La. I knew the older ones both started at school at Salesian but was unaware that the younger ones did also.

(Not to mention Patty Carrol a regular in the Seniors and Orr-Farrell a premiership player in the 19s all salesian exports)
I think Salesian/St. Marys could do with a bit of Help aswell. Battling down in the Division Grades Somewhere. Think the young ones did a year or two.

The Humphrey boys did the majority of their schooling at De La Salle and same with the Murphy’s at Xavier so it stands to reason they would play with those schools Old Colls rather than Salesian/St Marys. I guess the other 2 you mention wanted to play top division U19s. Must be tough for clubs in the lower grades to hang on to their young guns for that reason. Think Sam Pickett is another Salesian Old boy at DLS who is playing great footy.

Fair e nuff
Paul/Pat/Luke (not sure of the name) Hesse Won a bog in a grandfinal a few years ago as a Salesian boy for DLS. And had a few young kids join this year in Charle Athasaoipopioiuiuliuiuz (dont quote me) and Michael Kambouris, Salesian and Dairy Bell are only a stone throw away so makes sense i guess, not to mention de la ARGUABLY having the strongest u/19 system/teams (4 of the last 6 premierships and on runners up) really attracts the players as they have a HUGE list this year

Some interesting results From round 6! Xavs must be seriously spirted to come back from so far behind against blues who look like they are potential contenders also. De la still clearly the ones to beat, fualtless thus far! The ladder is starting to take shape! The unknown teams OMs and OCs both look very competitive, should know a little more after this weekend. It's a great competition, close games everywhere! Any thoughts on this weeks matches!
