The Run home:

De La Salle (13-0)
Round 14 v Uni Blacks(A) - I expect another easy win by 80+
Round 15 v Old Scotch(A) - could be a very good match, but i expect De La to have way to much on Scotch. De La to win by 40
Round 16 v Uni Blues(H) - I expect De La to put the final nail in Blues coffin. De La by 60
Round 17 v Old Camberwell(A) - Camberwell are a very good side who pushed Xavs late last week... I expect them to be with De La for 3 quarters, De La by 30
Round 18 v Old Melburnians(H) - OM's will be looking forward to mad monday and expect this to be a nice little tune up for De La before finals, De La by 80+

Finish - 1st (18-0)

Old Scotch (11-1-1)
Round 14 v Beaumaris(A) - Tough road trip and I expect the 10 game winning streak to come to an end in the match of the round, Scotch to go down by 12 points
Round 15 v De La Salle(H) - De La have to much over them in my mind, De La by 40
Round 16 v Old Camberwell(A) - Another very tough match in a tough road home for Scotch, very hard to beat Camberwell at home but for Scotch to stand anychance of gaining the second chance i expect them to win by a kick, Scotch by 6 points.
Round 17 v Old Xaverians(H) - Clearly the game of the round when its the game for second spot, should be a very hard and tough match in what I hear on a ground in bad condition, Cant wait to see this match and Xavs to pull away in the last quarter or we could dream and see Scotch choke and blow a 30 point lead in the last quarter... Xavs to win by 10 points.
Round 18 v Uni Blues(H) - Scotch to have to much for a Blues side not playing finals. Scotch by 35 points.

Finish - 3rd (13-4-1)

Old Xaverians (9-3-1)
Round 14 v St Bedes/Mentone Tigers(A) - Xavs to just win by 50
Round 15 v Uni Blues(A) - Blues are always a danger even though I think the season is over for them, I hear this game is now at Uni Oval, Should be a very good match with Xavs to finish the stronger side and win by 30
Round 16 v Old Melburnians(H) - Xavs only home game on the run home and should be way to strong for OM's, Xavs by 80 points
Round 17 v Old Scotch(A) - Cant wait for this match as you can see above, Xavs to win by 10 points.
Round 18 v Beaumaris(A) - always hard to go down to Beaumaris and this could be some game if Beaumaris are still in with a chance of finals... Im going Xavs but unsure on a margin.... just a matter on which Beauy come out to play.

Finish - 2nd (14-3-1)

Beaumaris (8-5)
Round 14 v Old Scotch(H) - to break Scotch's run and win by 12 points
Round 15 v Old Camberwell(H) - the match for 4th, I havent seen Beauy play for a while and I did see Camberwell push xavs... I think Camberwell might have a bit more fight in them and to win by the smallest of margins 1 point!!
Round 16 v Marcellin(A) - percentage booster!!! Beauy by 100+
Round 17 v St Bedes/Mentone Tigers(A) - a bit of a derby here and I expect Beauy to be to strong, beauy by 50
Round 18 v Old Xaverians(H) - very good game to finish the season, Xavs to win.

Finish 4th/5th (10-8)

Old Camberwell (7-6)
Round 14 v Uni Blues(H) - Camberwell to end Blues season and win by 50.
Round 15 v Beaumaris(A) - Tough trip to beauy and I expect them to come away with the 4 points by a single point!!
Round 16 v Old Scotch(H) - as above should be a tight match and Scotch to win by 6 points.
Round 17 v De La Salle(H) - to stay with De La up until 3/4 time, De La by 30 points
Round 18 v Uni Blacks(A) - an easy win you would think against a side whose season has been over for a while.... Camberwell by 100

Finish 4th/5th (10-8)

Final Ladder
1.De La Salle 18-0
2.Old Xaverians 14-3-1

4/5.Beaumaris 10-8

Really not sure why you would pick OX over Scotch and Beauy (both games AWAY) in successive weeks - I think Scotch will finish second either winning one or more vs Beauy, De La or OX. Got to rate them highly - only lost one game!!!!

Are the Final four teams settled? It would look like that is the case!

I agree Scotch must be flying, from what i have seen they look capable of an upset come finals time. Having said that De La may very well have another gear or two for the finals.

Dont count out Xavs, they have some fantastic players to come back! One would assume Gross will come back from the snrs having performed well up there, amoungst others to sharpen them up. Add Ambrose hitting form and you have a front end with some big weapons.

Big Van De Broek Looks like the kind of player who could rip the finals apart. He is a seriously good footballer! He spells danger to the other teams.

De La, clearly the ones to beat. The strength for them is great depth! Humphrey an absolute gun. Just doesnt make any errors. I still expect them to take the prize, but it is gonna be a cracking finish.

Can the likes of Buey or Even OC & Uni test the above mentioned. If so which players are gonna push them up to contend?

Beuy- Dickinson, Webber, Edmonds and All around leg speed and skill.
Uni- Shaw, Allen, Buttler.
OC- Mitchell?- Dont know much about these guys! see them play soon

What are the thoughts?

Cheers Nasi

Since Goss has been playing so well in the ones why would he be back in the 19s for the pointy end of the season?? OX too smart for that!
Don't think De La will be expecting Hunt, Pollard, Muller or Nicolopoulos back for the finals (what a frightening thought that is!!!!)......winning an A grade flag in the seniors is surely a clubs number one goal??!!!

you can rate them highly but the reason they have only lost once is cause they have only played the other top 6 sides once

Good point. Guess we will find out if they are real contenders after they play De La in a fortnight. Kicked 9.2 against them last time and lost by 8 goals...could have been a lot worse. From all reports De La have not played outstanding footy in the past month or so - final qtr got them over the line against OX. Only OK against Marcellin to win by 90. Good after half time to beat St Bedes and kicked 20. Probably got a bit left in the tank the blue and golds!!!!

Going to be quite hard for Scotch over the next 3 weeks with players injured and also playing ones as they aren't doing to well. Interesting to see how the 4th spot turns out? OC and Beauy will be a great game!

played de la and scotch back to back and they are pretty hard to split.
scotch are very strong across the board, with plenty of pace but some big bodies as well. its no wonder theyve won 11 on the trot.

xavs and scotch should keep the finals interesting.. whoever finishes 4th is simply filling the numbers

also does anyone know what the story is with uni blacks?
im pretty sure they lost to blues by 15 goals in their first meeting but drew with them on weekend.
they arent setting the world on fire but they seem to be a lot more competitive in the last month or so

Wish it were so but your mail is wrong. Hale has a season ending injury and is having surgery. Will be lucky to be ready by round 1 next year.

ohhh right so then why was he training on monday night down at the bell....
has a sore hip that needs surgery but as he said his only got one chance to play 19s so his qualifying for finals

Sorry but I cant make sense of what you are saying. Are you suggesting he is going to play just the one game before his Op? As he has not played any senior games (or any games at all for that matter) and is not VFL or TAC listed I don’t think he would have to ‘qualify’ anyway. Happy to be proved wrong but my understanding is he can’t play footy with his injury and is about to have an operation.

Sorry lads, i've been posting on the 3's forum but thought i'd come back to my grass roots for the final stages of the 19's season.

It seems to be heating up... It seems as if De La are with the pack a little more this year... Please Explain.

Also, no one cares about Damien Hale

well statistically speaking there in a better position then they are this year really? at this stage they last year they were 11-1 and this year there yet to loose a game and there closes loses have been 14 points and after that bout 5 goals, But i think its a closer comp between the top 4 teams thats for sure. last year after xavs and de la everyone was making the numbers, scotch and beau are all genuine contenders.

And about Damien Hale i think alot of people care about him, poor fella copped a nasty injury pretty early in his career but will no doubt bounce back and play great A grade footy for the rest of his time at de la. Future Captain of the club without a doubt. But he wont be making a comeback this year so dont bother talking about him on this anymore

Not sure who to pick between scotch and beauy???????
xavs too strong for St Bedes. 70 points
De la to smash uni blacks. 80 points
Interesing game between uni blues and OC but OC will be too strong. Win by 25 points
Tight gae as well between Om's and marcellin but Om's by 20 points.

Tips:

Beaumaris v Old Scotch - Beauy by 12
St Bedes/Mentone v Old Xavs - Xavs by 50
Uni Blacks v De La Salle - De La by 80+
Old Camberwell v Uni Blues - Camberwell by 50
Old Melburnians v Marcellin - OM's by 40

You are seriously the biggest tool to ever post on this forum Shlapp. You obviously got dropped from the OX 3rds and are now posting tripe here. De La with the pack a little more this year. Go figure that one out. DLS 14 -0 Old Scotch 11-2-1, OX 9-4-1. Yeh mate their really with the pack.
