Blacks never in it against De La. Slowish start to the game but an 8 goal second term set it up really. Muller back with 9, no one really to match up on him, Ellis was out who generally plays full back for Blacks.

De La really do look the competitions best. It seems Xavs had plenty of goals kicked against them by the bottom team, maybe that phenomenal backline is showing weaknesses?

Xavs definately do NOT have De La's measure. Xav's just scraping over the line to average sides and losing to Uni Blues. De La are so far ahead in this comp its not even funny. The only team that could possibly come close is Old Scotch at full strength on a very good day.

Xavs have beaten De La this year. So you could not possible suggest that the next time they play Xavs have no chance.

And speaking of just getting over the line against average sides... Round 2 De La vs Marcellin, and Round 3 De La were down all day against Beauy, good enough in the last to get over the line.

whats the news on noonan? xavs need him alot mor ethen first thought obviously. they have been less then convincing in the past month and have a red hot de la next week.

You just wait... De La will murder xavs the next time they play them

We will wait until then... and in the mean time you can keep stewing over the fact you were pantsed by them in Round 1.

Give up on the empty threats Dooshbag!

easy tige, 26 points isnt a pantsing by any measure, but 4 wins by over 90 points consecutive weeks is.

although i rate xavs i do think if you have a gander at the de la team sheet of round 1 to present rounds you will find a considerable amount of changes.

I spied 3 things on the weekend......Noonan out again, rumour has it the year is over if the case...good night irene for xavs....de las chb humphries listed but no wwhere to be seen on the ground can anyway elaborate? and word around scotch is that Big strange will make his long awaited return to the u/19s against the blue and gold?

St.Bedes are my smokey for the flag.....save this post ladies and gentleman

St.Bedes are my smokey for the flag.....save this post ladies and gentleman

haha... St Bedes got pumped by over 80 points in each game against the top 3... and the only reason they beat both Uni teams at start of the year was purely due to their reputation from the previous year… all it took was one big loss to Scotch and teams see their vulnerable… they have Buckley’s chance in winning the flag...what a ludicrous statement…

Top 3 settled for the moment but xavs are lapsing… one feels the loss of lees and Noonan is hurting them and that’s a worry as the season only gets longer and bodies begin to hurt more… whilst they are getting the job done they rely on their best where as De la and Scotch have greater depth and can cover injuries, holidays etc…

The top 4 for mine will look like this come finals.
De la
Scotch
Xavs
Blues

Everyone else is just filling in the numbers.

De La havent beaten anyone of note for 5 weeks, dont really see why people see them as being the clear cut favourites.
Scotch full side, Xavier full side, can both serve it up to them.
Xavier missing Noonan is a problem but my sources say he will be right come finals time.
I see Davis is finding some form for Scotch which is a big thing, and if they drop some of there older boys back this weekend like Strange it will be a much closer encounter then the last time they met De La.

For mine at full flight Scotch are the ones who can take this league by storm.

The battle for 4th is a non event you would say now after De La disposed of what i thought were the most likely team to fill it by 90 points in uni blacks.

Whether its blacks, blues, beauy or st bedes they will be out week 1 finals when they lose to Scotch.

Ladder prediction:

1. De La
2. Xavier
3. Scotch
4. WHO GIVES A F***
-----------------

yeh i have to agree... xavs and scotch at full strength... and bedes at a much lesser extent if they get their manure together will really serve it up to de la .. really close competition. is there any truth behind the rumour that only 1 game is needed to qualify for finals in the second half of the season? surely not.

is all this talk of murphy an inside joke that nobody else gets? just a view quick observations. would like to get non de la salle thoughts

1. lacks pace
2. decision making questionable
3. arrogance high
4. ruins the asthetic of the great game with his continuous, excessively loud commentery on the game
5. relys on the chop outs of humphries and the other little bloke in the backline too often to be considered an accomplished backman

Internely may be a good captain but lets put a stop to all this nonsence. the bloke is capable at best

thoughts?
your points 3 and 4 are average at best. if you ever met the bloke his arrogance is just a running joke that is hilarious so maybe bring a sense of humour next time u see him u twat and also what's wrong with directions being yelled from defence every side in the vafa have players who do the same

could de la please give some of the other teams a chance

got up nice and early for what i thought would be a cracking encounter and even a grandfinal preview and watched one of the most dominant displays and lessons in football i have seen in a long time.
2 huge factors about this game
- Scotch went the man all day, de la went the ball and hit the pill with 100% everytime, scotch didnt want it
- No Muller for De La yet they still kicked 20 goals and young up and comer O'Connel booting 8 goals with ease. The delivery was on a silver platter and his marking and second efforts were great.

Xavs v DeLa
Huge game and i cant pick a winner- hopefully its a little closer then what i saw today

scotch are good but i rekon de la have got the goods this year

xavs will struggle this week. de la are just too good. watched a lot of their games and they keep getting better and better. the 2nd rate players at xavier will beg for mercy.

After watching De La tear Scotch a new one, it is hard to see when they will lose another game... I think they are too strong. I wouldn't mind hearing from a Scotchies perspective? What's your excuse this time boys?

I saw Beaumaris just lost to Xavs as well. What happened down in Bayside?

well shit....scotch...pwned!!

lol nearly a clean hundy!

rupo v marc game....rnd 1 rupo by 130........rnd 10 marc by 50 odd! rupo are dismall!

i dont get the uni sides really....some weeks very competitive and others getting rolled by trinity...ie..blues this week??? thoughts on why!

de la.....one hand on the premiership cup if u ask me....the other hand priming its self to open the first beer to celarbrate...so far ahead of the rest its not funny!
having a quick look at the scotch side too....certainly looks like they had plenty of there goods playing...re.. mason n co

mmmm and xavs....classicly just JUST doing enough to the get the points....i fear for them however come de la next week...at de la....i predict de la showing this comp how far ahead they really are!

thoughts?

yours with love
Mister X

De la yet to lose at home and cant really see it happening this week judging by scores from the last month. Scotch, Uni Blacks and Uni Blues all gave Xavier a real match, but were all punished by De la.

I would say De La by 50+ points, have been reluctant to jump on them as favourites after some early performances, but have now won 9 in a row, with the last 8 being very convincing.

On the other hand xavier have been falling over the line most weeks and havent been punishing sides without Noonan.

While de la have shown when muller is out they can still kick a score.

things are about to get really messy
de la will most likely trounce xavier this weekend and make the hole competition look average, hard to see them being stopped for the rest of the year now.
still wouldn't pencil the premiership in yet, finals are a different story. De La on the verge of clear cut favoritism though

Ed Murphy = GUN!

Saw the first half of the De La v Scotch game and he was a general down back. Xavs will have to be on top of him if they're any chance this week.

That short kid on the wing didn't like it when he was tagged though. Struggled with an opponent running with him.

well joey all you've proved is the bloke is funny. my point was that he is not a good enough player for this whole website to be dedicated to. nobody is yet to dispute points 1 and 2 and for him to be talked up like an out and out superstar is ridiculous. but i do wish murphy the best in his stand up comedy career. that arrogance gag should get plenty of bums in seats. sounds side-splitting
