Has it even been tested in a court of law? Do you really agree to anything by clicking on a radio button?

I don't know, I don't really care either. All I know is that next to nobody bothers to read it just like next to nobody bothers to read forum rules. I sure as hell never have.

That's pretty much my point. No one reads it.

Back to the show.

I almost freaked out when in Ep 12. Mario moves into my apartment building.

(which wasn't around in 04)

The episodes (11-13) don't look anywhere near finished, look like they still need to go through a couple of more hours of editing. May as well wait until they are shown on TV.

Yeh pretty crappy they were, I stopped watching half way through episode 11, there was no score music and a few parts were missing sound, just have to wait for the tv rip i guess.

Where did you get them from? Nico 52s site or mininova?

I got them from torrent reactor, the mininova ones seem to be the same ones judging by the comments.

I've been watching on Nine and the show is enjoyable but it's not really anything to write home about... we're only really talking about it so much because it's based on real life events. I think it's also obvious that Nine have been cheap when it comes to production and post-production costs.

If the show got cancelled (unlikely due to it's strong ratings) I'm not sure I'd bother downloading the remaining episodes.

That said, it's certainly better than most of the garbage that passes for "Australian drama" on the commercial networks these days. Although whilst it's enjoyable it's certainly nothing great.

I tend to agree with this, it is a bit annoying too as it could have been really, really good. As John Safran was saying on the radio the other day, it is annoying when someone has a good idea and then buggers up the execution, as it really can't be done by anyone else after that.

Having said that, I will watch it out, and it is one of the very few television shows I can be bothered with. Thank god the footy is about to start.

John Safran has made an art form out of buggering up good ideas, so he cant talk.

These three episodes are the only ones available afaik. There is no dialogue missing, they apparently came from the studio that cuts in all the music. Which makes sense of what I remember Channel Nine saying that they hadn't actually finished the first three.

This must piss them off because everything I've read said they thought they'd come from copies given to reviewers. But I can't imagine they'd give unfinished copies to reviewers... Their studios must leak like a sieve.

This will probably kill off big budget Australian drama's for good.

One question... I thought Dino Dibra was played by Alex Dimitriades, but then realised he played Victor Brincat... So who was the Dino Dibra character played by?

Why I won't be close to Mokbel as gavel drops

Norm Beaman
March 16, 2008

TONY Mokbel is a charming villain. He greets me and my cameraman by our first names — but we won't be sitting too close to "Tony" when he appears before the Greek Supreme Court on Tuesday.

It's not that we are not interested in the result: the five judges will finally decide on whether Mokbel's bid to avoid extradition to Australia has been futile.

In fact, it's because that decision seems certain to go against Mokbel that I'll be sitting well away from him. Why? Because security is so lax that Mokbel could attempt an escape. If that happens I want the story — not a stray bullet.

Consider this. In Mokbel's previous court appearance a fortnight ago a woman wearing a heavy shawl brazenly sat between him and the man supposedly guarding him. Despite the guard's protests, the woman stayed put, whispering to Australia's most famous fugitive.

What worried me more, though, was that she could have had anything hidden under the shawl … a gun, for instance.

There is none of that fancy metal-detector scanning going on. I stroll in and out of court with a briefcase holding all manner of items and I've never been stopped.

So much for "security". Then there's the likelihood Mokbel's associates still have the contacts, the clout and the cash to buy a favour in a country where corruption is not unknown.

Purana taskforce police have reportedly stripped Mokbel's drug empire of $50 million, but the betting is there is still enough stashed away for "Fat Tony" to stake himself to one more audacious gamble. He always was a huge punter.

Charming as he is with reporters and guards, Mokbel didn't endear himself to the court on his previous appearance. Given a chance to address the court, he did so in a loud voice, speaking through an interpreter. But it was what he said that probably made the judges lose patience with him.

He admitted that he had escaped from Australia but claimed it was because Australian authorities waged a vendetta against him. He also quoted no less an authority than convicted triple murderer Carl Williams as saying Mokbel had never offered him money to carry out a murder.

Despite the fact that the judges had thrown out his bid to be extradited to Lebanon rather than Australia, outside the court he made it clear he doubted he would be returning Down Under. At the time that arrogance, or denial, amazed me.

But now I wonder if he was hinting at another plan. His only alternative to returning to Australia is to be tried and sentenced in Greece, and he says conditions in its jails are appalling: he spends nights brushing cockroaches off his face.

The security outside court is even worse than it is inside. When he arrives by prison van he is allowed in full public view before entering court, and almost anyone can approach him. It all means that the temptation could prove too great. Tuesday could be interesting.

So are there any good quality episodes of 11-13 out on torrents anywhere?

I have downloaded two separate lots from mininova (ended up being from the same source) good, but have the annoying digital countdown on the screen. Strange, after 5 minutes i didnt notice it. Download and enjoy:)
