Why is it that you insist on in which this Dramatisation is set???

Many, many films over the years have had Real life chracters portrayed and not all have or for that matter needed to be identical to Real life. Some topics have been told in differeing versions and neither version has been identical to the other let alone the Real Life version.

For Example did either Mick Jagger or Heath Ledger really look anything like Ned Kelly??? No, but did it really matter to the story they told! (subjective opinion - Maybe, but we still knew who they were)

mate i didnt insist that the actors needed to be actually identical to real life Characters nor did i say that the series was bad cause the characters arent identical to the real life characters

i was just saying if underbelly wanted to make the characters look identical
IMOO!!!!!!
they didnt to that much of a fantastic job!

OH yea when i refferred to mick gatto as a big boy
i didnt mean that he was fat! :)

I thought they did ok

lol what a piece of crap television show. Like someone said, complete dumbing down of the story, "dot-to-dot" was the term used. couldnt have said it better. it was like it was made for people with an IQ of about 30

fixed imo, but you pretty much got it

Thank you to David Leckie for his opinion.

Personally I think most here have it right, brilliant tv well acted and superbly written. Sugar coated a little for commercial tv but that's to be expected.

Why would anyone sit watching this looking for stuff that shouldn't be there??

It's not so much that, having lived in the Carlton/North Melbourne/Brunswick area for the last 12 years while this has been going on and following the story though the Age and books it's disappointing to see recreations of incidents looking totally different to what has been known to have taken place.

Ie Carl's shooting wasn't at a bayside location but a grity suburban park. It just ruins the overall look to the series(to stylised) and the attempts to add a bit of colour have really only made certain characters look stupid.

They rushed the production when really it was never going to be shown in Victoria this year and in all likelyhood is not going to make our screens within the next three years at least.

brilliant tv, well acted, superbly written :confused:

Very funny when Benji and Mr T were driving off after knocking Nik the Russian, arguing about who killed him to get the 70%. Good on Carl splitting it 50/50.

And Brett Swain has arrived. Excellent.:D

I thought they did an excellent job of it. as good as any movie ive seen

Agree 100% Its not like Australia has thousands upon thousands of quality actors to call upon either. I think theyve done a fantastic job with the likenesses.

In terms of the actual show. Its entertaining and its got good solid acting. I think theyve done pretty well and its one of the better Australian series ive seen.

^Agreed 100%.

Another fantastic episode last night.

Looking forward to next week where it seems as though Carl Williams grows some balls and starts to take on Carlton head on.

That was funny. And Roberta almost banging Benjy & Carl's heads together when they were arguing while hanging out the washing.

I'm beginning to get a "the Carlton Crew" deserved it feeling -taking sides me:eek: especially Condello.

Condello deserves/d it just for his bad acting.

It isn't a matter of who deserved what.

It's a matter of fact that everyone involved in this whole thing were immature, try-hard poseurs who had bigger reps than bank balances.

Do you realise how many of these arseclowns left their families behind with huge debts? This show isn't about Mr.Big type underworld figures, it's about a pack of try-hards who watched too many mafia movies and started believing their own bullshit.

It pisses me off that people have a go at a great local production when it is geniunely world class. If you want to knock something try all saints or home away but this series is topnotch. Have enjoyed every episode and I'm going to buy the books and read up on the history and watch it again. Anyone know when its out on DVD? Heard that it's soon.
