It does in theory sound good but we should be conscious of the fact that commercial FTA television in Australia has a tendency to create some really shit shows, regardless of the subject matter.

I'll watch the first couple of episodes at least, but I certainly won't be going in with any high expectations.

Blue Murder was gold. The Great Bookie Robbery was good too (avergare acting, but who care - nothing like watching tales of our homeland gangsters)

I bet Chopper will get upset about not getting any attention and being usurped by other much more worthy gangsters. Wouldn't be surprised if he'll be searching for a TV deal.

I just hope the TV series doesn't make them out to be criminal masterminds.

Most, if not all of them were just junkie thugs.

if you know the story the person that started the war mario was so afraid of this un worthy gangsta choopper that every time chooper left prison mario packed up and moved to italy until chopper came back, chopper also had a full plan to set up land mines around mario's house so he could get him one morning but believe what you want about whom.

Really looking forward to it, they've got the best aus actors they could get for the show and its such a deep riveting story they really cant **** it up too much cant wait til it starts

If its in a similar vein to blue murder, this show will be awesome.

This story certainly deserves that treatment.

Blue Murder had A-grade talent behind the camera, notably writer Ian David and director Michael Jenkins.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Underbelly, the work of tired TV hacks.

I Am looking forward to it
Seeing it's being made by a commercial network though it will probably be a lot like an edgier City Homicide. I'm think a lot like some of the stronger Blue Heelers episodes of the final season. Ie pretty good but not as ground breaking as Blue Murder or Phoenix and no where near the Sopranos but still should be very entertaining. Definatly the most promising looking Australian series coming up anyway
Caroline Craig and Madeline West will be nice added bonuses as well :D:thumbsu:

Phoenix

was a good mini series based loosely about real events.

Incidentally I was wagging school the day of the Russell Street bombing and was on the Princes Bridge when it went off, everytime it's mentioned I'm taken back.
