Analysis Underrated Collingwood Players

I always thought JA in 09 was a product of luck. He had an incredible period of accuracy. Couple that with being a little disrespected by the opposition and able to find space in the forward line to pull in a few marks from decent incoming ball. Breeds confidence. Lecafe was similar in finding space and a few marks in 2010-11 (can't remember which year right now). Neither, once recognised as a danger were able to reproduce that form or impact. Not underrated buy rather overrated in the sense that form wasn't and never was going to be reproduced year in year out. Once their weaknesses were worked out they were never going to be what they appeared to be for a short period of time.

That's rough on Caff, he spent most of 2011 injured before he then went and did his knee. He hasn't really been given a proper crack at the role he played back then. I think he could still be a serviceae third tall but with the likely structure of our forward line going forward he probably won't have an opportunity to play that role.

Yep, Dench & Southby were ineligible because they weren't Hall of Fame members at the time, and the two older selectors 'didn't rate'* Jack Regan.

*Had a severe case of sour grapes

Yeah, maybe ... I hope you are right about Caff but my impression was that his success as forward was more about right time, right player rather than 2010 form was going to be reproduced year in year out. I see him as a solid performer but not necessarily going to reproduce what happened during that time period. JA was more a stand out example though of my point in that post.

I said this in another thread but I think Treloar may be slightly underrated. In the last 2 seasons combined he has averaged more disposals and tackles than both Dangerfield and Heppell, and has never finished less than 5th in GWS' b&f.

He also shits on future 10 time brownlow medalist Patrick Cripps and is only 2 years older.

Has anyone said Jesse White yet? Jesse White. The amount of crap he cops is way out of proportion to his actual standard of performance. Not saying he's particularly good, but he's nowhere near the terrible player people make out

White's Biggest Problem is his Competition. We have a Young Gun Darcy Moore take his Place and look more Exciting then White.

Lol agree White's main problem is his physique, he looks impressive but plays uninspired.
