uneasy feeling

We need to break their spirit early and we need to run hard, I have doubts they will end the game with a full bench which will make it pretty brutal on the rest.

Get used to being favourites and expected to win games over the next few years. Embrace it, use it and walk tall baby.

From your lips to God's ears BigE. It's been a long time between drinks since I've had that feeling that we had in the second half of the '90's.

Oh yeah, I also hope the footy Gods are smiling on us for this our how many I've lost count of twilight game on a Sunday. Stress level at mine will be sky high around 4.25 p.m.

I reckon it would. We wouldn't have won the game of course, but given the way we started, I'd say if Buddy wasn't playing, we may have lost by no more than 8 goals or less, which is a huge difference to 115 points.

I only disagree EH because of how easy they were allowed to run with the ball and deliver it to their forwards. I still say they would have won by 100 plus but that's just hearsay now.

I loved that feeling! it was the same with Aussie cricket team. Every time they stepped out onto the park you just expected them to win.

As For Sunday twilight, I've got a 6 hour drive on Sunday to get there for the game. I'm gonna be so edgy once I hit Ballarat!! I'm ssssoooo looking forward to being there!!!!!!

That only happened when they broke our back. That's when the run started to flow like Champaign for them. But the back was broken with Buddy's first 5-6 goals in the first and second quarter.

Had he not been playing, we'd be in the game for most of it, I reckon, and the floodgates wouldn't have opened IMHO.

This is kind of big game that will be great experience for our kids - win or lose. We aren't going to win the flag this year, but if we can get used to the pressure games, make the finals, maybe even win one, it will build on the 9th places for the last 2 years.

We failed dismally last year with the pre-finals game against St Kilda. This game and the one against Freo are going to be like mini finals. Feeling pretty good about this one - they just have too many injuries, and despite playing terribly last time, it came down to a kick after the siren.

Watson is an absolute star - will need to be shutdown. Not sure who will get the job, but it will be critical. Dempsey had the best game I've ever seen him play last week, and Crameri is just the type of player who does well against us. No Ryder or Stanton is a big win for us.

Ryder playing would have had me worried. I could see him drifting forward and kicking goals. The team they have picked means Hurley will most likely have to spend time back which is better for us

I don't feel comfortable with us going in as favourites this week.

I know the reasons why we should be, but Essendon nearly snatched an upset last week.

On League Teams tonight, the whole panel tipped us and Dermie even closed the show off with "good luck to your respective teams... go kangaroos"
Am guessing he wants to see the bombers sent packing.

It's our game to lose this week, let's hope we don't muff it!

If your only as good as your last game then the Bombers are in terrific form. Very stiff to lose over in Adelaide with a heap of players on the sidelines. We were okay.

I'm extremely nervous about this one. So much is on the line for both teams. HUGE game for the club.

No better team to knock out of a finals race then the dons!!

Embrace it boys!!
Oooh, big call. For me it was Carlton. Best game of the year for me.

Beating Essendon will run a close second; the wife and 5 year old daughter may disagree with me on that score though.

I am a little bit worried, we're still too inexerienced to expect perfect games of football every week.

I reckon they'll jump us early with their intensity before we lift and end up winning comfortably. We've had the foot off the pedal for two weeks and I don't see us planting it down right from the first bounce.

So basically, we get the shits when you don't get the credit we're due, and we get an "uneasy feeling" when we go in as favourites.

Do I have this right?
It's mostly due to two things:
- we haven't yet secured our spot in the finals
- we had our chance to set ourselves up early in the year against dogs and power (when we were also favourites) but blew it

Don't worry Andrew the boys are playing much better then they were early in the season, barring last weeks first half we are one of the in form teams in the comp and essendon are out of form, we will win

So what? When you're the better team, people tip you to win. That is what has happened this week.

Don't be nervous people, be excited!

Just think back to how we treated Geelong, St Kilda, Adelaide and Carlton.... at Etihad.

We are obviously still fit enough, so we just have to bring it early on and we'll be right.
