That video review.
All angles bar one showed it was clearly a goal.
Goal umpire said it was a goal.
Cretinous video umpire sees ball deflect and post move.
Ignores fact ball deflected off Petrie a foot after the line and that the post wobbled through players hitting it.
Ignores all the video angles that show exactly that.
Finds reason to call it a point, perhaps because of some lingering infatuation with Paul Roos.
Conclusion = he is imbecile.
Field umpiring not much better. If they persist with letting these mauls roll on, expect more leg injuries to in and under players.
UMpiring is reminding me of Wayne Campbell - shitful.

I'm waiting for the official response. Looked a shocker but has to be an explanation. Even TV folk stunned. Interesting though that whilst the review was on the players set up for a behind. Maybe they saw something.

They're not going to run back to the centre and get caught out by the decision going against them.

It's not the system.

It's the ******s that are in control of it.
Pretty hard to work out how any human being with any idea could come to the conclusion that hit the post.
Topped by Ralphy saying Howlett's didn't. The spin of the ball clearly changed!

Absolute joke. Video system needs to be sent back to the NAB Cup until it actually works properly. Was filthy at this, simply moronic - no one with a working set of eyes could possibly think that was anything other than a goal. If Jack finishes on x99 career goals I'll be very upset.

I was under the impression that the umpire can make a call (in this case goal) then ask to see if it was touched. My understanding was that the video review is then only looking to see whether the ball was clearly touched. My understanding was that it had to be clearly touched to override the umpires original call.
If that is how the system works then I have no problem with it as it would correct blatant errors.

However the call comes back as a point because apparently it hit the post. WTF?????
Now this has to be clear evidence to override the umpires original decision.
The only thing I saw the ball hit was Petries shoulder once it had already past through . The post moved because he and others crashed into it.
Umpires original decision should stand.

So I don't mind the video review system as I understand it but on this occasion I think they made a human error.

The ground announcer at the G said the umpire called for the review to see if it hit the post.

there was obviously other footage, the view from the grassy knoll clearly shows it hitting the post. FOXs vision from the book repository indicated otherwise.
