I see there is a thread "changes for next weeks team"
A lot of people are saying to drop Kreuzer and/or Hampson and/or Wiggins and/or Russell and/or Sentana and so on.
A number of these are to be dropped because of their clangers.
Well, I've got news for you. If we are to drop players because of clangers and send them back to AFL to get their confidence back then out goes; Murphy, Thornton and Carrazzo. The number of unforced kicking errors these guys make is unforgivable. On Saturday night we GAVE two goals at least to Geelong in the first quarter alone. I love Murphy but he's got to learn NOW that the team cannot tolerate such a regular lack of concentraton.
By the way, Waite is just as bad and until we can reduce these unforced clangers we are not going to worry anyone. They know we will always GIVE THEM the opportunity to get back into the game.:thumbsd::confused::eek::rolleyes:
Did you see Cloke put the ball down Fev throat a number of times.

Don't you dare go bagging Murphy's disposal. I've already tried that and they are all over it like a rash, with stuff like 'he's only a beginner', 'he's done more good than bad', and 'he'll come good as he learns'

So, it's plain to see that you have to back off on young Murph as he has only been playing at the top level for three years, so what more would you expect from a number one draft pick????

Yeah I agree Carrazo is a dud so is Bentick, Waite is a shocker and I havent been impressed with Murphy's disposal of late. He is a good kick but don't know whats going on with him at the moment. Thornton is another one who needs to take a good look at himself.

Unforced? The Cats physically intimidated our young side, which was their intention, and that led to skill errors. The issue was the quality of our execution under pressure. Remember this is the premiership team, and it was, by their coach's admission, easily their best performance of the season. Their players are much older and physically stronger than ours at the moment. While last nights performance was disappointing, I think we'll learn a heap from it. The Cats are the benchmark, and we need to be able to perform under that sort of pressure. :)

Missing a target uner pressure would be a forced error, not an unforced error.

My questions: Is missing a target under referred pressure a forced error or unforced error?

Sounds like a question for Gilly.

:)

actually Gilly's problem is he cant find the hole!! :D

On fire today, P. Good to see someone's spirits are still up after such a lamentable Satty night effort. :thumbsu:

Yeah Thornton was shocking, DROP HIM... He only had 21 disposals at 100% efficiency, he had 4 clangers but 3 were free kicks against..
Murphy 80%, 4 clangers (2 free kicks against)
Carrazzo, 29 disposals (80% efficiency), 6 clangers (4 free kicks against)

we turn the ball over as a team too regularly
and i would question the age or herald suns stats as far as accuracy for clangers goes
who decides if it is forced or unforced
either way a good side will
a) avoid the high pressure situations by good disposal and smart thinking
b) Dispose of the ball with quality even while under immense pressure

I am sick of all you idiots over-analysing the statistics. Watch the match again and see:
a) how many times did Thornton break through the lines with pace?
b) how many pack marks did Thornton take?
c) how many times were thornton's possessions easy receives and gives?
d) how many of Thornton's kicks were squaring the play to a loose man?

How about instead of labelling me an idiot! Read the context in which my posts were made friend. The OP said Thornton etc. turned the ball over by foot and I rebutted it with pure statistics which showed otherwise, read twice next time. Thankyou.
