How unfortunate is it that Hawthorn won't win a premiership with this bunch of talented players because the Bulldogs and the Cats are so far ahead of them?

Seeing blokes like Franklin, Hodge and Mitchell run around, who have obvious talent, you just can't help but feel sorry for them because you know they're just not a great team.

In history can you think of a great team who just couldn't win a premiership because there were always teams a little bit better than them?

Geelong 1991 to 1995 comes to mind. West Coast were just better than them when it counted, and then the Blues came through.

St Kilda 2004 looked like a side that could have done it, but Port Adelaide and Brisbane were just that far ahead of them. In fact I'd go us far as saying Hawthorn 2008 are the St Kilda of 2004. Good, but just unlucky to be behind such dominant teams.

So when can we expect the DVD release?

Unlike Geelong last year.

All supporters are welcome to jump on board and enjoy Hawthorns run to the 2008 Premiership.

We'll gladly embrace everyone and will share our victories with you all.

You are all welcome, even the Geelong flogs who will be drying there eyes when they get polverised with Buddymania come GF day.

That's ok Kitty Cats we'll have a beer with you and lend a hip & shoulder for you to cry on...

All aboard.

Good point about St Kilda 2004 and Hawthorn 2008:
- talented midfields
- extremely potent forwardlines
- question marks in defence
- average ruck divisions
- flew out of the blocks
- slowed mid-season

Buddy will kick 2.14 and 5 out of on the full. Thus, Hawthorn's score for the day, 2.14.

you better hope he does because thats your only chance of beating us.

You forget that we don't bad cattle ourselves, for instance you better stop Ablett, Bartel, Selwood, Corey, Mooney, S.Johnson, Ottens, Chapman because that's your only chance of beating us.

You really are amazing! You came up with all those comparisons by yourself? You missed a few though:
- Both are suburbs in Melbourne, Australia
- There have been several players in the the clubs history to have played for both teams. These include (but are not exlcusive to); Peter Everitt, Russell Greene and Dean Anderson.
- Both Hawthorn and St Kilda play football. On a field. (How about that one!?)
- Alistair Clarkson was spotted in St Kilda once. He may or may not have been drinking a coffee at the time.

There you go, I think that covers it.

TD - we heard all this empty rhetoric and bravado from Hawthorn fans last year.

Perhaps after this year you'll learn....

You're not a bad little team

Just ain't ready to piss with the big boys yet.

Cheers, I knew I missed one or two.

meh..

good side Geelong , i like them alot...:thumbsu:

hawks have them covered & exposed everywhere....

do you remeber what collingwood did to you a month back..

all you need to do is multiply that by 2...

Losing to the Hawks in the Grand Final is no disgrace..

Good luck with the migrane GF day bomber...Buddy, Ruffy , Willo & Co will run amok.

Whilst we have to contend with who?...Mooney & Lonegan?...bwahahaha

Just don't add up im afraid.

Oh, almost forgot ..memo to Mooney..

Hodge, Sewell, Mitchell, Lewis, Bateman & Crawf are no Rhys Palmer....and while you have your hands full containing that lot...Birchall, Ladson, Dew, Young, Brown, Guera, Osborne, Ellis, McGlynn & Rioli say Hi...if you can get near them that is...;)

Edit: Just realised the time.

I can name our entire list as well! But I won't...

I have done the comparisons before though and it looks awesome:

Ablett v Hodge
Ling v Mitchell
Bartel v Crawford
Corey v Sewell
Selwood v Lewis
Chapman v Bateman
Kelly v Osborne
Scarlett v Franklin
Harley v Williams
Milburn v Roughead
Johnson v Brown
Mooney v Croad

Obviously we'll cr** all over you guys, but it looks good on paper. Just like the Saints for the past 4 years...

There's a good chance that some of our players don't even know your ruckmans names. I know one is Campbell...the other one slips my mind....he must be 'flying under the radar'. Ditto your defence....Brent Guerra and Stephen Gilham....too bad Kant Kicksley isnt still at the club...he'd have a nice old day out....

Nope..

School starts for you next week, then you'll have a couple of months to think about where you went wrong before you come back for your final lesson...remember to bring your books...

'Which way did he go'....by C Rioli.
'Damn Straight'...by M Williams
'Second Pick'...by J Roughead
'Winning made easy'....by L B Franklin.
'Never in Doubt'...by Al Clarkson
"Mission Imposiible"...by Mark Thompson - to be released end of September...you'll need that for second semester.

Does it take 44 years practice before you can kiss your own arse?

Good to see the obsession is still alive. And to those people who bagged the draw, now we are here, God it was worth the wait.

Two massive games coming up and wouldn't it be wonderful to see the Dogs have a huge win this week, just to see a few tumble off the Kardinia Park bandwagon.

Are they from 'The World's Shortest Books' thread? Seems like it. By the way, your last book there was written last year. Found to be possible, though.
