This is what I came in here to post.

Its actually not an illustrious industry as people say, chemical engineers in the most part make toothpaste and whatnot...

labour is all about supply and demand, we always get new grads coming in expecting huge money first year, in reality it doesnt work like that... you have to put in alot of hours and do alot of hard work before you get the big money!

working in oil and gas I have been very lucky, and you will make very very good money... I personally think that we are underpaid when you have managers who have basic commerce degrees getting 20-30% more pay in some instances

Maybe some of this is true but i'm a bit skeptical.
One thing i do know though is that my friend is a Chemical Engineer, bitches love him.

I can tell you now, its hard to meet girls when you spend the majority of your time on an oil rig...

Welcome, how much do you make? Is it hard being away from the city? What is there to do for entertainment on the rig?

Naturally, I don't want to go into exact sums. Lets just say that my salary is 6 figures and the first number is greater than 1.

Theres movies and a gym etc, plenty of food, a lot of the time you are asleep but when you do have the spare time its not too bad, not boring at all. I was just saying when you are home for such brief periods most women tend to want something more stable than a guy who is away for 8 months in a year, you know what I mean?

I found someone when I took a year or so off, but this was years ago, it is certainly not the meat market that some people would think comes with being an engineer, deep down we are all science nerds :D

King of the stock market. lulz.

Yes. Literally all my assignments/mid sem exams are before the easter break.

Feelsgoodman.

Do we even have a break this sem?

Am I the only one that has actually got to study though the upcoming break :( .

**** no. Mid-semester break is the busiest time of semester almost. I've done sweet FA for the last 6 weeks and need that week to at least catch up.

Got a law assignment that requires 10+ hours of research but is only 1500 words, so it's going to be hell to get the important stuff down and not blow the limit. Absolute bitch and a half.

Add to that 6 weeks of material i haven't made any notes for.

Feelsgoodman.

I've got my first mid-semester exam on Saturday.

Which happens to be my birthday

Saturday. WTF?

Currently sitting in my uni's computer lab, wondering why, in my fourth year of tertiary study, I still leave assignments to the very last minute, given that it's a strategy that hasn't worked well for me in the past.

fml.

Good to see you're on BF as well. Uni student if i've ever seen one :thumbsu:

I share your pain, I have one assignment that is meant to take 30hrs **** that. Another assignment that I have no idea for as I haven't been to any classes yet. Finally an communication essay (easy right....) 2500 words and you have to have at least 15 sources, I hate researching. Study break is going to suck balls.
