:D at Guy Sebastian comment.

Guy Sebastian was the first Australian Idol winner. Edward Greeves was the first Brownlow medal winner. Greeves won his Brownlow without the help of the religious vote.

Greeves played 124 games for Geelong including the 1923 and 1931 premierships. The 1931 premiership was a turn around as Richmond had easily beaten the Cats two weeks earlier and had gone into the game as favourites. Richmond had a very strong team during that period and had played in four of the previous five Grand Finals without premiership success. After the shock of the 1931 defeat they recovered to win the 1932 flag.

The Camry Crows had a very strong team in 2005 and 2006. Like the Richmond of teams of 1929 and 1931 they blew their premiership chance. Unlike the Richmond team of 1932 the Camry Crows never recovered.

Richmond (1927 to 1934) 8 Finals Series, 7 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

9 to go.

D...just a question ...did your therapist advise you to do this...ya know...get it all out of your system and then curl up in the foetal position and cry?
There must be some reason...apart from a love of stats, that you are doing this .

Speaking of curling up in the foetal position and crying, does anyone have any footage of Neil Craig after Collingwood ran all over the Camry Crows in last years Elimination final? Poor old Criagy looked like he was trying to find a few spare syringes of pain killer while the Collingwood boys were in their change rooms having a nice cold beverage. Whilst on the subject of Beveridge and Collingwood, John 'Jack' Beveridge played 148 games with Collingwood in the VFL from 1926 to 1934. He played in Collingwood’s four consecutive premierships.

Collingwood (1927 to 1934) 7 Finals Series, 4 Grand Finals and 4 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

8 to go.

I love how these Adelaide supporters are avoiding the subject of this thread and just going off on unrelated ramblings :p

Speaking of unrelated ramblings, Wally May was made famous for his incoherent ramblings as a SANFL commentator in the 60s and 70s. Wally would report on Channel 9’s Footy Inquest and would more often or not start with his legendary "It was tough, it was hard, neither team gave an inch". Wally became the doyen of the cliché with often repeated favourites such as “Bad kicking is bad football!". And one of the most famous exchanges in SA broadcasting occurred when Max Hall asked Wally May for a comment, Wally said: "No comment" and Ian Aitken added: "Good comment."

Whilst most South Australians knew that Wally May played several seasons for Sturt they are unaware that he played in Essendon’s 1949 and 1950 premiership teams.

Essendon (1944 to 1951) 7 Finals Series, 6 Grand Finals and 3 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

7 to go.

"Comment, Wally May"

What else can you say when the main poster in the thread believes that finsihing 13th is better than making the finals

No I have completely reread the thread and nowhere in it does anyone say that finishing 13th is better than making the finals. This is what is known as a Straw Man argument. While on the subject of straw men the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz joined Dorothy in the pursuit of a brain. They should have also been joined by Neil Craig, David Noble, Peter Jonas and Ben Hart.

The Wizard of Oz movie was released in the 30’s. Back in the 30’s Collingwood didn’t have to go for a trip up the yellow brick road as unlike the Camry Crows of 2001 to 2008 they were not devoid of courage, heart and brains.

Collingwood (1931 to 1938) 7 Finals Series, 4 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

6 to go.

The mighty Camry Crows Football Club has been very impressive of late. After all, this great club has regularly made the finals. In fact, they have made the finals in seven of the last eight seasons. Making the finals seven or more times in an eight year period has happened 115 times. When clubs have done this 98 times they have won at least one premiership. In fact when a team has played in the finals seven or more times in an eight year period on 114 occasions they have made the Grand Final at least once.

There has only been one team that has made the finals seven times in an eight year period and not made the Grand Final. That’s right, the Mighty Camry Crows.

Well done to the Adelaide Crows for setting a “World Record” for mediocrity. Year after year they play above the norm in order to qualify for the finals but we all know that they will inevitably embarrass and humiliate themselves with yet another failed finals campaign. Which they have done for seven out of the last eight seasons. And for some unknown reason their supporters are proud of this mediocrity.

Wow, thats actually impressive, you did a lot of research on that hey, well done.

What else do you do with your weekends?

I didnt avoid it. Our finals record is sh1t.

Especially in 1993, 2005, 2006 when we gave up obvious chances to win the flag.

Be thankfull for our poor record in September, the only important stat (between our clubs) could well be 5>1 and not 2>1.

I realise that if we won in 1993 history could well be different, Back to the Future style:p

Ah, good ol’ Back to the Future with Michael J Fox as Marty McFly, Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Emmett Brown and Marc McClure as Dave McFly. Of course there is another Mark MacLure who played 243 games for Carlton including the 1979, 1981 and 1982 premierships

Carlton (1978 to 1985) 8 Finals Series, 3 Grand Finals and 3 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

5 to go.

Interesting....

“Interesting” as Colonel Klink would say Colonel Hogan. And, boy, did Hogan have many heroes. One of them was American technical specialist Sergeant Carter. Carlton also had a hero called Carter. Prior to WWI Ernest Carter played for Richmond but from 1916 to 1920 he played 20 games for Carlton including several finals making him a contributor to the following.

Carlton (1909 to 1916) 7 Finals Series, 5 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

4 to go.

Wasnt it "Very interesting , also stupid." Bit like this thread, without the "interesting" part.

don't read too much into it finny

Yes I wouldn’t read too much into it. Just like when the wives of Andrew McLeod and Tyson Edwards got into a catfight at the Swish bar at the Stamford Plaza. There was much tension between McLeod and Edwards after the fight. Reading into it, many people thought that the Camry Crows, who were in the two previous preliminary finals, would slide down the table never to recover when in fact …. oops, bad example.

Oh yeh, I have another example. After the Richmond’s 1932 premiership coach Checker Hughes and club secretary Percy Page left Richmond for Melbourne and their departure created a lot of disharmony at Richmond. Reading into it, many people thought this would be the end of Richmond’s golden era. However Richmond remained more than competitive and were runners-up in 1933 and won the 1934 premiership.

Richmond (1929 to 1936) 7 Finals Series, 5 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

3 to go.

Dam we were good. This is a great thread D-one, there is nothing to like about the crows or their ****** supporters. Easily the most overrated club by their supporters in the league, year in year out.

Here's another one for you

Hawthorn (2008 to 2014) 7 Final Series, 7 Grand Finals and 7 Flags
Crows (2008 to 2014) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

The Hawks bit might not happen but the crows bit is a certainty :thumbsu:

Certainty, hey? Many people thought South Melbourne were a certainty at the start of the 1909 finals series. Minor premiers, 20% ahead of Carlton. However they lost their first final to Carlton and only won the GF by 2 pts

There is no such thing as a certainty. On second thoughts, you are right the Crows are a certainty to go from 2008 to 2014 with 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

South Melbourne (1907 to 1914) 7 Finals Series, 4 Grand Finals and 1 Flag
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

2 to go.

We're getting close now Crows supporters, you can feel the tension in the air. Much like the last 5 minutes of a Crows Prelim Final.

The agony will soon be over but then again another 7 years of agony awaits
Port will never have that problem. Making the finals every second year and all. A lot of easy money to be made this year with Centrebet, being and "Up or Finals" year for the Tealsters.

It would be easier money Geoffa to bet on the Crows finishing somewhere between 7th and 14th.

Now thats a safe bet

hahaha. You could be right, but you cant do that bet.

At 2.10 Port to make the eight is good value. Double your money. Bookmark it and tell me I am wrong September.

Take Rudds money and double it.

Geoffa, Geoffa, Geoffa. When will you learn to check your facts before you shoot off at the lip.

Every second year, hey? Port has made the finals 7 out of 12 seasons or 58%, the Camry Crows have made the finals 10 from 18 or 56%. In fact only West Coast and Collingwood have done better than Port.

In the last 10 years its 7 finals series each.

Port Adelaide (1999 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 2 Grand Finals and 1 Flag
Camry Crows (1999 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

Still 2 to go.

Cant do Geoffa. Ive already spent my cash handout on durries and pokies.

P.S. Dan Murphys has a great deal on chards at the moment. Now theres something for Crowies to spend their money on. Or you could donate it to Bernie Vince for his testicular transplant surgery.

And who said Crows players dont have balls??

Geoffa's tip. A little Chardonnay in your Garlic Prawn sauce makes the dish.

Recent history:

05 finals - no Grand Final
06 finals - no Grand Final
07 finals - no Grand Final
08 finals - no Grand Final
09 finals - hehehehe

Cant argue with that.:p

Four full season coaching, four finals appearances, but not good enough to make the GF. Such a poor record Craigy has:mad:.

Geoffa, glad you agree with me regarding Craigs abysmal finals record. Cant argue with that.

But lets not take anything away from D Ones entertaining, but factual, posts. I think I can hear the drum roll starting......

Is that a drum roll I hear?

Stats ...they can fit anywhere and anything if you can be ****ed.:D

Yes the stats for the last eight years of the Camry Crows can fit anywhere. 0 consecutive finals victories, 0 preliminary final victories, 0 grand final appearances and 0 flags. That’s four zeroes. Now where can those stats fit? I know, they can fit on the grill of an Audi.

audicrowskn8.jpg

Maybe the Camry Football Club should change its name to the Audi Football Club.

Now if Audi’s symbol was four 1’s then maybe they could have sponsored the Collingwood team from 1927 to 1930, which won four straight premierships.

Collingwood (1926 to 1933) 7 Finals Series, 5 Grand Finals and 4 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

1 to go.

It is poor, but better than Chocos in his first four years.
