Posted a similar message on the Adelaide board. Just looking to see if anyone is up for the next Adelaide U.F.C. home match against Sydney United on Sunday November 2 at 4:00pm.

Its $12.50 for general admish and its open season on all seats. The Stand cheer squad are usually at the western goals, where Ray Nolan, Still Crowing and myself will be.

I'd much prefer you not to pollute the Port Adelaide board with soccer stuff

As a man's game, soccer is an embarrassment, woops, I fell over, owwwwww, hurt, pain (is anyone taking notice of me yet? am I on TV yet?)

You brought the subject here, so I am entitled to make my opinion public here......

I shall be there, have already got my tickets to watch Adelaide United play the greatest game on earth. ( :p to Asgardian!) ;)

I'll be in the Joiners Arms beforehand, probably from around 2pm, so if anyone fancies a drink and a yarn pre-game I'll see ya's there. Let's hope we get more people with The Stand for this game and make even more noise.:D

Excellent. I came looking for you in the Joiner's before the Strikers game, but couldn't see anyone fitting the SA flag description. Ah well some other time eh!

You can be ignorant on here if you like.

Soccer can be a very tough game.

Its your perogative not to like it but to imply that its a game for "woman" is plain silly.

I'm a Port Adelaide supporter, have been since 1964, what do I care about majorities?

Anyone wants to talk soccer on the Port Adelaide board, I'll call it a wimps game as often as I wish to.

This board is for the Port Adelaide Football club, take ya soccer onto the "Wimps Soccer Board", that's where it belongs.

and Jars, you have no place on here to be telling me anything, ask questions, contribute on footy, like I do on the Adelaide board, but don't tell a Port supporter what he has to think on the Port board

Being a Port supporter on the Port board, I'll say that Aussie Rules is a game for pussies compared to Soccer ... :p

Until I see something on an AFL field worse than what happened to David Busst (had his leg broken in about 15 places in a tackle) I wont be changing my opinion.

Ray, you say you're "Port Adelaide to the bone", start sounding like it.

I find any comparisons of soccer to Aussie Rules as a god damned insult, talking soccer in the same breath as Aussie Rules is a bloody joke.

You want to talk injuries?

Rod Burton in 1976, against Glenelg, Wayne Phillis put the knee into the back of Rod's head in a marking contest, fractured skull and permanent brain damage.

approx 1975? Peter Marker broke his leg and ankle, plus dislocating it, causing the foot to be turned over backwards and pointing in the wrong direction. Everyone there will never forget.

a couple of years ago, Jason Snell, a similar injury to Marker's

the number of guys who have played with broken jaws, cheekbones, arms, collarbones, feet, hands, fingers, wrists, guys playing on with severe kidney damage, ruptured spleens, punctured lungs are legion

Now thats stupid. If someone needs (wants) to see people getting injured and broken skulls, brain damages to say that it is a men's game then you would have to be really stupid. Why dont you just go watch boxing or kickboxing then? Soccer is the most beautiful game in the world. It requires a lot of skills unlike other sports.

FFS, that's all we need, another newbie who cannot f.......n read.

Nowhere did I say I want to see injuries, to anyone, but I will say that Aussie Rules is one of the toughest sports on this planet.

Now Milanista, do you support Port Adelaide?

if not, get the f..k out of here

if you do, contribute to footy discussion

there is a soccer board for soccer, talk about it there

The only reason I post these notices on the Crows and Power boards is because not everyone goes to the Soccer Board.

It's the only way to get the attention of the locals.

Those who enjoy soccer, would check out the soccer board.

Posting here is merely getting the attention of those, like me, who want nothing to do with god damned soccer.

I have no problems with those who love their soccer, that's fine, just don't make me endure any part of it on my footy clubs individual message board.

Very insular of me, yes, I know, but I also couldn't care less.

If you don't like my posts on this subject here, then don't read them... because there's plenty more where this is coming from.

Dreamkillers and Porthos don't seem to care that I post this stuff here. Freedom of speech is allowed here, innit?

I do post these on the soccer board but more traffic comes here and to the Crows board, and gets more attention.

Port supporters are allowed to support two different sports and if they happen to read about it here, then bad luck for those who don't want to because until the moderators mentioned above say so, I will continue to do so.

It isn't your board to dictate what goes here and what doesn't.

This isn't relevant to the Port board, but I've left it up until now because its offseason.

Its fair enough to be off-topic for a meet-up sort of event, and even a little recruiting for a new club, but if these threads keep popping up in, say, a month's time for what are just regular soccer games, I'll be sending them to the soccer board.

That pretty much sums soccer up for me(as well as the fact that it is the most boring sport in the World and should not even be considered a "sport".)

Lawn Bowls is better.

I think most Port supporters/players enjoy soccer. As said before Tredders is an Arsenal supporter and Chocko follows Liverpool. And if someone wants to come on our board to organise meet ups, I think that is great.
No offence to a fellow Power fanatic Asgardian :)

I'm a Port Adelaide fan, love the club and have done for as long as I can remember. I don't see the need to have some slavish devotion to Aussie Rules to the detriment of other codes of Football in order to be a PAFC fan. I really enjoy Aussie Rules, but to mention it in the same breathe as being anywhere near as good as Soccer is an insult and a joke to me. IHMO Soccer is the greatest game of all by the length of Nullabor. If you don't agree, well stick it in your pipe and smoke it for all I care because at the end of the day, you're the one that's missing out on the greatest game of all.;) Paralowiepower is right, most Port fans enjoy both Soccer & Aussie Rules (hence why the PAFC & AUFC are looking at forming links) so just relax and don't be so uptight about it.;) :)

Oh for crying out loud... so one man's distaste about seeing anything other than Port-related stuff being discussed here is fuel enough to get them thrown off the board. Who b*tched to you first?!

I guess I should keep this to the Adelaide board... they don't seem to have a problem with it.

Or... I'll neatly disguise the thread just so I don't p*ss certain people off.

Goddamn it.
