Californication ...good songs, garbage production. For a long time it was the most distorted over compressed album ever made.

Never bothered getting it. I am a Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan but never felt compelled to buy that album. Heard enough of it on radio anyway.

Im with ya. Nick Cave is a hack. Another greatly overrated.

One of the very few like a versions that was actually interesting.

This week on like a version, some acoustic/soft hip hop/indie pop/unplugged rock band performs a song and makes it sound the same as every other like a version version.

The only other great one is John Williamson doing Offspring.

Savage Garden are a great band, not only for the music but for their place, being a pop band in the height of grunge. They were actually rebelling against the grain.

I don't have much time for their straight out rocking tracks but their mid tempo slow stuff is awesome.

I listened to all their albums this week to make a greatest hits compilation, 14 tracks and it's all high quality.

But I like until the freeze so much I made a copy of that as well.

Kurt was long dead before Savage Garden had success. They peaked when alt rock was suffering its post grunge durge.

I went on a van tour around Europe in the Summer of 2000 and Californication was the theme album of that tour, it was played everywhere.

The ultimate road trip album.
