I don't get why just because it's a young kid that it just makes it ok to run on the field. If it was a guy even in his early 20s he would've got his ass kicked and fined for it
I don't think anyone says it's ok. I've actually got no idea what you're talking about but

I think it's a reasonable assumption that a 23 year old has more of a grasp on what his behaviour could lead to, and that a fifteen year old is often a lot easier to persuade to do things.

I don't mean to be rude but unless your 19 working in retail, $25 an hour sounds awful.
Working a 40-45 hour week in Australia earning 25 an hour can give you a good living. As long as you don't have kids. It's what I've earns pretty much in my life and sure, I've never had a luxury car, or fancy anything, but I've got an amazing beautiful wife, live in an awesome place and travel and see many cultures.

Not awful at all.

What makes you happy?
Money, duh ;)

I'm fortunate in that I really enjoy my job and I get paid fairly well for it.

However, I do strongly value my free time. I've been swamped lately and would happily trade in some of the money I've earnt for a few extra hours to spend with friends and family. Travel is also high on my list (although, I could work and travel at the same time if I was ever so eager).

Well good luck. I've never really been paid very well, but I've had plenty of time to relax and get out and about... Tomorrow I'm in Vienna, should be fun.

Trade your money for experience and memories, there's no real other point to it.

True

I probably mis spoke

It's just significantly less than what I make and think mortgage/rent + living on that would be difficult

I enjoy a solid quality of life on 23 an hour. Its not difficult to prioritise spending, and I also have a fairly decent saving account.

First point of call is, never own a credit card.
Where you live has a big say. Living at home it would be easy to live off that. Renting at an inner city suburb, it wouldn't.

Nah disagree. As long as you manage it okay and don't be a moron over spending on it, credit cards are pretty good. I've never paid interest on my credit card, not once.

As for saving, I am so thankful for my situation. $300 a month on rent is a pretty sweet deal- I don't earn a lot of money, but due to the fact my expenses per month are pretty low, I can actually save some decent money.
