These would be unpopular opinions for Perth residents;

- Krispy kremes are no better than any other donut chain. Have no idea why people always bring a heap of them back from interstate and I'm perfectly happy to not have them in Perth

- Other than footy and 7/11s Melbourne is no better than Perth

100% agree. Krispy kremes are disgustingly sweet pieces of shit. Donut King or Dreamy Donut are equal or better in taste and variety, why do Perth people insist we need a KK here?

Same with Starbucks. If you're into shit coffee at some wanky chain then Gloria jeans suits your needs perfectly. All the good coffee in Perth (and the world) is in independent cafes.

I shake my head at Perth folk who still insist we NEED Starbucks & Krispy Kreme here just because they have them in the East. Sure they're trendy, but the product they sell already exists here, **** off to Melbourne if you want it so bad.

I wouldn't be against a couple 7/11s opening up in the CBD though.

Over the past 10 or so years I would rate Super Troopers as the best comedy film followed by Anchorman and Zoolander.

Haven't seen many other comedy films in that time that I'd really rate all that highly, the majority of modern day comedy films suck balls.
Brilliant post. Super Troopers is horrifically underrated. I'm constantly stunned by the amount of people who have never even seen it.

I wouldnt agree. Super Troopers and Anchorman are what I would call man-boy dork comedy.
Zoolander is really wacky though in a good way, i'll give you that. And highly quotable.

Superbad is okay.

But there are much better comedies out there than this type of junk.

Well admittedly I seldom ever have donuts (although jam donuts were one of my absolute fave foods as a kid), so im no connoisseur on donuts. But the times I had KK they werent exactly that bad. Maybe it depends on what flavour you get.
But as I said, donuts arent something I go out of my way to get, im content with what the local bakery or coles can dish up.

Whereas i've had some awful ones at Donut King before. Overseas once, I had a durian donut that tasted like petrol

I agree with Gina Reinhart.

Well the concept that it is yourself to blame for how much you earn. I have friends who earn minimum wage and whinge about mining friends earning 100k +. There is nothing stopping these people getting rigging/scaffolding/OHS/HR etc tickets and applying for these jobs to earn this money. You want it, you can get it. Just have to put in the effort. Yet they do nothing about it and keep working retail, living for the weekend.

Great call on Krispy Kremes, went over to Melb 2 years ago and was pretty excited to try these supposed amazing donuts so bought an original and some iced one and could not even finish one.. was sickeningly sweet and could not take more than a couple of bites.
Never bought one again and definitely didnt bring any back.

Being a bit of a coffee wanker I didnt expect much from Starbucks and was proven correct, although absolutely love the coffees I had in small little cafes over there tho! Maybe the "Omg, Im in Melb" factor added to it..

Starbucks closed most of their Melb outlets a couple of years ago

They are now confined to a few in the CBD and near Swinburne Uni in Glenferrie

They identified that their market was mostly tourists and foreign students and located appropriately

Locals preferred their usual cafes

Sunday trading started on the 26th of August 2012.

What does this mean specifically?

Was it like Good Friday where absolutely nothing except for petrol stations are open or was it like Easter Sunday where the majority of shops weren't open but the major supermarkets and retailers are open?

I really can't comprehend it.
