Analysis Unprecedented: should the Crows tank their qualifying final?

Rankine is one of Adelaide’s three best players and may hold the keys to success on grand final day.

Given he has now been suspended for 4 games, if Adelaide wins its qualifying final then Rankine will have no chance of playing in a grand final should they make it.

ON THE OTHER HAND, if Adelaide were to tank their qualifying final then Rankine would be able to play in the grand final.

Should the Crom tank their qualifying final?

There may be compelling medical reasons relating to Isaac's mental health that REQUIRE them to forfeit their qualifying final. Isaac may feel bad if he misses the grand final so they MUST do it!!!!!!

They have to win a prelim without him anyway to make it. At least TRY and win it at home so you get to the grand final and even without him if you have a squad that’s made it to the GF as if missing one player who you’ve already survived a finals series without us going to rob you of the belief that you can win one more game.

Well this Soap Opera is finally over and if Rankine deserved to suspended for 4 or 5 games it doesn’t bother me.
But with the Crows their September dream of winning a 3rd flag will depend how it goes on Saturday against my team North.
A easy win with no injuries could leave them thinking it will be easy come September.
But a drag out hard close game will be ideal for the Crows as long you don’t get any injuries.
I just want North to be competitive and not get blown away.
But inclosing all the best for September just hoping Collingwood and Geelong fall over and not win the flag.

There are COMPELLING MEDICAL REASONS to do this - Izak will be badly impacted if he misses out on the grand final. Think of how it could affect them, perhaps?

I tend to agree. Adelaide would be silly to win the qualifying final and ruin the chances of a guy who has given them so much.

I think the only sensible answer here is yes, it’s a strong strategy, makes a statement, shows the AF…. Oh they’re out in straight sets.

Still, a point was made, a good point, a strong point, I think, wait, no, yes. That’ll teach head office.

Your mob finishing fourth, eh?

Basically 0 percent chance of Brisbane finishing 4th, it is either 3rd or 7th.

But this is beyond team tribalism - Izak is suffering from COMPELLING MEDICAL REASONS and the Croms MUST respect that and lose the qualifying final.

No, winning the qualifying final is still the best pathway to winning a flag. It's just a bit of a bonus if we have a stinker in the first week, and can somehow claw our way through the rest.

I’ve read some moronic posts in the 15 years or so I’ve been on Big Footy, but this nearly takes the cake - well done.

Your post dismissing the thoughtful thread started by Elixuh is disappointing.

More than ever this underlines the need for a Mental Health Round. Shame people aren't thinking about Izak's COMPELLING MEDICAL REASONS!

Yeah but no one has factored in the toll reading this thread has had on MY mental health. Might see if the boss will give me a week off.

Especially if we finish 4th
