His entire rationale is based around "it's a new start for Adelaide Oval"...... that and it is a cheap easy troll to get the Apricot Slice grannies riled up.

Bone logic. Things need to change but don't change anything. I am embarrassed for him. He has got even softer since taking the full time gig at 5AA. It is like once you sign up for the 5AA footy show they remove whatever remains of your testicles!

Hahaha this is exactly spot on. Theres a quote in there where talking about the off field shambles he says "Not the time to point fingers, but people need to take responsibility". WTF does that even mean? Epic doublespeak
 
Tex, Danger, Sloane, Crouch, Sauce, Douglas, Vince, Smith, Talia, Laird, Henderson, Lynch imo should not be even considered to be traded. Douglas and Vince bleed for the club, Henderson has finally found a pure role and I think Lynch has been super this year, turned his career around. I still think we need a better outside runner, e.g. someone to play Mackays role, like how Goddard does it. Cough Gibbs. Mick is playing him out of position.

I'd rather someone other than Gibbs. He would cost a lot of cap space and doesn't hit a contest hard. Dare I say it, Bryce Sqibbs. Ok so he's not entirely bad, but we need a fast runner, but one that won't short-step a contest. We need a type more like Daisy Thomas, yes he has limitations but he tries his utmost at every opportunity, he has the added bonus that when he tries something beyond his capability he can have a laugh at himself when it doesn't work and then just gets on with the job.

If a team offered us a top five draft pick for sloane, we wouldn't take it. Teams hope for a player like sloane if they have a top five draft pick, so there is no point in trading him away for one.

They put the Mail up to $2.50 to pay for their reformatting driven by Pembathy.

Hopefully they haven't given Bone a 25% pay rise too, as his articles are often a waste of a read - may as well be another Le Cornu advert!
 
My untouchables at this point involve the obvious players that we want in a crows jumper for life, combined with those who are of more value to Adelaide than anyone else (not worth trading) and of course the talented youngsters:

- Dangerfield
- Walker
- Sloane
- Crouch
- Talia
- Jacobs
- Douglas
- Henderson
- Van Berlo
- Thompson
- Vince
- Rutten
- Otten
- Porplyzia
- Laird
- Brown
- Grigg
- Lynch
- Johnston
- Hartigan

I know thats a lot of players, but its just the way our list is. I am quite happy with the direction we're heading, our drafting and our player development. If not for the Tippett debacle we'd be in even better shape to have a sustained crack at a flag.
 
If GWS was to offer you their first round pick plus another highly rated player for Danger would you go for it?
Just a simple question with no motives behind it.

I would think about it if I was a Crowie with the only negative being that you already have Walker in the forward line, but having two super top notch KPFs would be worth a thought.

Objectively, say pick 1 + Dylan Shiels or Coniglio would be a swap that would on paper make sense, we would solve our KPF issues for the next decade. The issue with it though is we are building a brand on Dangerfield which hopefully will be successful and I would think such a corporate decision to move on Danger to move the team forward would destroy the playing group

IMO I would have Sloane on equal par with Danger as an untouchable. Mentally he is our best footballer, not only talking smarts but he runs himself ragged every game and never stops trying. You can't get rid of that in a club

I agree with your post, however I also think of Richmond and Richo every time I think of those scenarios.
Hard decision with no 100% right or wrong answer.

Yeah agree with this entirely.
We COULD do it, and probably in a virtual world would be slightly better off, but Danger and Sloaney are hte heart and soul of the club now and I would go BT Bananas if they were traded, or even shopped.

No. The premise behind trading is to get better. Dangerfield offers us something unique that is virtually unstoppable. the #1 pick may get us a Power Forward who can tear the opposition apart. But the kicker is it realistically will take them 4 to 5 seasons to really get going. So that's 4 to 5 seasons with no Dangerfield, plus depends on the quality of the player we got but we also loose our flexibility up forward. It would be a disaster to do that.

Nah.

That would be like getting two face cards on the blackjack table and saying hit me. Yeah you could get an ace.... But there's a 98% chance you'll get any other card, and who the hell throws away a hand of 20? A madman, that's who.
