Thats why its called Basic strategy. It is the method that provide provides the best chance of not losing too much. The maths shows that you still lose, but not as much if you didn't use the strategy. If you want to win, you need to count cards and splitting 10's is most certainly advantageous dependant upon where the count is. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that almost everyone splitting 10's at the casino on a Saturday night have nfi what they're doing.

Correct. Basic strategy reduces the damage of losing which is what will happen in the long run.

Card counting does give you an edge but a very small one that needs to be exploited properly when the count is high.The eye in sky can detect this, because all along your bets are small and then all of sudden you bet big when the count is in your favour.

The a-holes at the Adelaide Casino now have automatic shuffling machines and use them very regularly making card counting practically useless.

I used to enjoy going to the Casino making "good" money, but they have put an end to that.

Not sure when the machines have come into play there, last 4 years or so????

Take Douglas out and I agree! I would listen to offers for Talia and Smith but it would have to be something out of this world for me to pull the trigger. As far as the other 4 are concerned, I wouldn't even pick up the phone!

Dougy has had a great year but he is far from untouchable! If Melbourne give me pick 2 for Douglas, I would do the deal without any hesitation!
