Not making excuses for Almunia's performance but he picked an elbow injury when saving the penalty apparently which could partly explain his shit second half.

He chose to play on though. The sad thing is, I don't think a fit Fabianski would've done much better.

Nah, unless he has had this injury his whole career.

Haha, gotta laugh.

What a disgraceful performance last night. If I was told we would lose 3-2 I would expect for Carson to have played the game of his life, for us to have wasted chance after chance and Alumnia to have gifted them a couple of goals. Whilst the latter happened, I think they simply outplayed us really.

Team news vs Partizan Belgrade

Gibbs has passed a fitness test and will be available for selection. Almunia will miss through an elbow injury with Fabianski deputising.

Diaby has not been named in the 18-man squad.

Vermaelen and Fabregas are only slight chances to be available for Sunday.

The team is hard to predict. With a crucial match against Chelsea this weekend, I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict heavy rotations.

Predicted lineup ...

Fabianski
Eboue - Djourou - Squillaci - Gibbs
Song
Denilson - Wilshere
Rosicky - Chamakh - Vela

Subs: Szczesny, Koscielny, Sagna, Clichy, Lansbury, Nasri, Arshavin

Unavailable: Almunia (elbow), Vermaelen (achilles), Frimpong (knee), Fabregas (hamstring), Ramsey (leg), Walcott (ankle), van Persie (ankle), Bendtner (groin)

Prediction: Partizan Belgrade 1 - 1 Arsenal

Broadcast Details: None live

Wednesday 29 September - 06:45 AM (AEST) on ESPN [DELAYED]

I think we are going to struggle as we will play with chelsea in mind. Hopefully get 2 early goals and make some subs.

I'm glad we won but annoyed Flappy played well because now Wenger will use this performance for a while to justify not buying another keeper.

Anyone else notice the peculiar amount of penalties we have been getting?

I think it is 5 already this season. I am also pretty sure over the last 3 seasons we haven't had more than 10. Maybe karma is coming round for us after we haven't been given heaps.

Good performance by most. Chamakh has really settled in well, might be hard for Van Persie to get starts with him playing well (also the whole constantly injured thing). Fabianski played decent, he has gained a little bit of trust back. Hopefully he plays well against Chelski.

Good result and glad we rotated the team a bit. Arshavin seems to be a bit of a CL specialist. Pity he hardly played against Barca last season.

Let's hope Cesc is fit for Sunday. :thumbsu:

No, he's just suspended in CL.

If Cesc is fit, the team for Chelsea is pretty predictable ...

Fabianski
Sagna - Squillaci - Koscielny - Clichy
Song
Fabregas - Denilson
Nasri - Chamakh - Arshavin

I'd like to see Wilshere start but I doubt it.

And for the love of god, stop playing Song as a box-to-box turnover merchant and leave him at DM.

If Diaby plays, we'll lose 6-0.
