Very dominant performance against a Villarreal outfit that were missing some key attacking players. So our makeshit defence didn't have much to defend. Brilliant finish from Walcott, very Vela like. On current form we should push Man U all the way and hopefully Clichy and Almunia have returned. If we had Arshavin I would be extremely confident.
The cup match against Chelsea could be intresting. Drogba and co. will be a huge challenge for our defence, but Cech and a few others have looked pretty dodgy at the back for them.

April
Chelsea (Wembley) 18th FA Cup
Liverpool (A) 21st
Middlesbrough (H) 26th
Man U (A) 29th CL

May
Porstmouth (A) 2nd
Man U (H) 5th CL
Chelsea (H) 10th
Man U (A) 16th
Stoke (H) 24th

6 out of 9 of the rest of our games are against the rest of the big four. Going to be exciting.

is an exciting time atm the team is brimming with confidence and it looks like were peaking at the right time, i cant wait for united its gonna be a massive tie and i really do beleive that were a great chance of making the final considering liverpool now have the oppurtunity to solely focus on the epl and make it really tough for united.
theos goal was fantastic, really looking forward to chelsea and seeing arshavin strut his stuff against a big 4 side:thumbsu:

Sagna and Gibbs are in doubt for the FA Cup semi ...

“We still have Sagna as a doubt for the weekend,” Arsene Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday afternoon.

“And after last night we have Kieran Gibbs as doubt too. He has a little groin problem. Clichy, Almunia and Djourou are still out."

"There is the option to play Sagna in there if he has recovered."

"The other is to play Silvestre there and put Song at the back. There’s not many options but we’ll deal with the situation no matter what happens."
Assuming both are fit, I'd go with ...

Fabianski
Eboue - Toure - Silvestre - Sagna
Walcott - Fabregas - Song - Arshavin
Adebayor - Van Persie

Subs: Mannone, Gibbs, Diaby, Denilson, Nasri, Bendtner, Eduardo

Sidelined: Almunia, Clichy, Djourou, Gallas, Rosicky

Good to see we finally have all our attacking options available. Can't fit Vela on that bench.

Yeah we really can't afford to lose any more.
I think the back four will be something like:

(R)Eboue:Toure:Song:Silvestre(L)

I hope Sagna will be right to play. Maybe not 100%, but I just don't see what other options we have.
Would rather have a NQR Sagna than Silvestre

Sagna is out. Gibbs to face a fitness test.

Please be fit, Gibbsy. Song at CB up against Drogba doesn't really excite me. Updated side ...

Fabianski
Eboue - Toure - Silvestre - Gibbs
Walcott - Fabregas - Song - Arshavin
Adebayor - Van Persie

Subs: Mannone, Diaby, Denilson, Nasri, Bendtner, Eduardo, Vela

Sidelined: Almunia, Sagna, Clichy, Djourou, Gallas, Rosicky

Great effort to be in both semi's but gee our defense looks light on - but I still think we'll create enough opportunities to win tonight.
With the way we are playing offensively I think it might be a case of just score more then they do. A clean sheet would be a mighty effort against a quality opposition.

Gibbs will play I think, they'll give him some sort of painkillers to get through the game. Chelsea's right side isn't anything to get too worried about. It's their centre that will kill us.

I'd go 4-5-1 as well just to combat their midfield. We know we're effective with 4-5-1 these days. I reckon we'll line up as some version of the 4-5-1:

Fabianski
Eboue - Toure - Sylvester - Gibbs
Diaby - Song
Walcott - Fabregas - Arshavin
Adebayor

SUBS: Mannone, Denilson, Ramsey, Nasri, Vela, Eduardo, van Persie.

I agree with just about everything in this post but I think Van Persie has to start. I think attack will be our best defence - we can't let Chelsea dictate possession by sitting back, they will just hammer balls into the box and eventually get on the end of one. Starting Van Persie will and Ade together will force chelsea to be a lot more cautious going forward.
