  • Xhaka, Mustafi and El Neny all very good today. Xhaka had one brain dead moment when he fouled just outside the box which Cech saved, but with the exception of that was good on the ball and proactive when defending. Mustafi was flawless, which I fully expect his next game to be a disaster given his performance today. El Neny was everywhere and played some really good passes, but also had a couple of bad turnovers.
  • AMN has so much talent and should be developed as a right back, has much to learn defensively but with time should improve where needed.
  • Kolosanic is slowly improving each week but I don't think he is good enough to be a nailed on starter, good final third player but leaves a lot to be desired in the build up phase.
  • Ozil and Myhki were excellent and were running the show.
  • PEA was alright, did what he does best by getting on the score sheet, his team mates haven't yet adjusted to the runs he is capable of making.
  • Iwobi, disaster. Makes me miss the days of having Gervinho and Podoloski of the left wing.

AMN really is a gem of a prospect. Just looks like a naturally smart footballer

Really liked El Neny's game yesterday. Looked like he had the "Arteta" role in playing the ball out from the back which he did well.

I liked the fire Ozil showed when Iwobi over-hit what would have been the perfect through ball to Ozil. It was kind of like "I could do that perfectly at your age, why can't you?". I want Ozil to demand more from his teammates, become a leader.

Myhki and PEA already getting in the groove together. PEA might still be adjusting to his teammates, could have had 3 yesterday - the cross from Kolosanic just had a little bit too much pepper on it for him to slide in at the back post and he messed up and 1v1 he should really have done better with.

Iwobi is interesting. He has the ability but just has no idea how to use it, his decision making isn't good enough at this level. Watching him play for Nigeria shows that he can do the right things but we can't carry him in the Premier League. He needs game time to learn but at the same we can't carry him for 70 minutes.

Welbeck and Iwobi both need to be replaced in the first team. We've already lost Marcus McGuane (to Fking Barcelona) and Reiss Nelson isn't signing a new contract due to lack of playing time.

Iwobi doesn't strike me as the type to lack confidence, I know there is a difference between confidence on the pitch and off the pitch but with amount of confidence Iwobi has off the pitch, I can't see him struggling for confidence on the pitch. Having followed him since U18 level, Iwobi still has the same the strengths and weaknesses. He couldn't strike the ball well then and still can't, he could dribble past his opponent but wasn't great at it and he can make defence splitting passes but doesn't do it regularly. I think it is more of a case of Iwobi not being good enough more so than any confidence issues and that he is stealing the minutes of more talented players in the U23's.

Iwobi has the talent, it is difficult to know though whether the problem is Arsenal or him. He's drifted along the past 12 months or so but if he was at another club, he perhaps would have kicked on. Anyway, for now he shouldn't be a starter.

Has been said before, but we really should be getting minutes into the likes of AMN, Nelson, Holding etc. I don't blame Nelson for stalling on a contract. Holding really should be playing more, can easily be forgotton how good he was in the Cup Final last May. Has been used sporadically since. A week ago I would've said Mustafi should make way for him, but his game against Milan and last night were quite good.

Elneny was also very good and should probably partner Ramsey against Milan.

How's everyone feeling about the 2nd leg against Milan ?
Have been having this dodgy feeling 1-2 (3-2 agg. win). Score early. Relax too much. Give one back on a cluster****. Give up a second nearly instantly as we deflate. Hold on for dear life, have to suffer thru 5 minutes of extra time at the end.

Then I report to Midland Hospital with heart attack symptoms.

I can see something like that happening also, ultimately we will progress but we will do it the hard way. Too good to be true for us to have a comfortable routine progression.

Waaay to early to go that line however Mhiki playing well would be driving mourinho mental
Mourinho just doesn't have the nous to play his attacking players, he's shown that plenty of times in the past, thought he might get it right with sanchez because he's pl proven and just let him do his thing but he's still struggling with the whole thing, martial isn't even getting a look in any more

From what I’ve seen of United since the move, Alexis has played well for them. More than his stats say anyway.

He doesn’t seem a great fit for their system at the moment under Mourinho. He’s not the first and won’t be the last to struggle with that.

I know people like to rag on our keepers (often with good reason), but did anyone else watch superstar Courtois completely implode at the Nou Camp this morning?
