Giroud and Griezmann were regular starters together, they seem to be a good combination. But not sure if they’re still regular starters together, haven’t followed international football much of late.

Giroud has not been better for two years at least.

Yes he has. Giroud has been a consistent scorer in the premier league and at international level, Lacazette was scoring in Ligue 1 but has failed as a striker in the premier league and been pushed out to a wing.

Henry is going to be interviewed also

Geez we are really are embarrassing

Let's just get Henry, Vieira, Arteta to rotate between Manager/Assistant manager.......give them 10 games each! Keep them all happy

Pires can be under 21 with Freddie under 16's......Jens can stay keeper coach

Lord Bentdner can be team psychologist!!

We can lose!!!

and we would be the first team in history to rotate coaches :poo::poo::poo:

There was a time when some fans were saying “anyone but Wenger”.

A big name would be nice but that Ornstein article is very insightful. The club has significantly restructured its model at the top, probably due to the realisation the manager had too much power and influence too over many areas.

A big name, such as Allegri, may not slot into that structure as smoothly as say Arteta.

I recall a time when I was sceptical about throwing the keys to an ‘unknown’ and ‘no name’ coach named Alastair Clarkson. That kind of worked out reasonably well.

Whatever the decision is, I’m looking forward to the change of scene.

Wenger left the Arsenal playing stocks in an absolute shambles. Both goalkeepers, Héctor Bellerín, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Shkodran Mustafi, *Nacho Monreal(great this season whose value now is as a mentor to youngsters), Mohamed Elneny, Sead Kolašinac, Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere (needs to be moved on), *Alex Iwobi (needs to be bashed up by senior players & maybe given another chance), Ozil (does not have the required tenacity or love of the team. Too f***ing soft both on the pitch and at trying to get himself onto it).

If we were to bring in one of those high profile blokes, the fella from Juve or that one who hasn't coached for a while but had Barca before or anyone who has not been in the English game, then with the garbage squad we have, a fellow not grounded in the EPL is more than likely to bring in a bunch of expensive, highly paid "foreigners" who are most likely going to be absolutely shell shocked at the sheer intensity and no-holds-barred EPL and they won't be able to turn to the coach, because the coach will be bewildered at the new planet he's landed on!

If we were a Chelsea, Man.City, Man. United, Spurs, Liverpool with a very good squad that needed strengthening in one or two areas, then get the you-beaut Enrique, Allegri, whoever, but we are lightyears away from being those top sides and we need a major overhaul with someone at the helm that understands the EPL inside and out.

Look at Guardiola. His first year in the EPL provided a really good case study into what happens to new managers in the EPL, even ones with great capacities like the great Guardiola. The look on his face for the first half a dozen games was extraordinary! He was in awe and shock at where he was. He couldn't believe the incendiary nature and intensity of the EPL. He started whinging about this that and the other thing, he was taken aback that the idea of injury/extra time was not just a time to wind down and relax and as soon as the watch ticked over to the exact time on the board, the referee would blow his whistle. There weren't players falling down all over the place to wind the clock down. If a player went down or time wasted, it was added on and he just zapped out and made an issue out of it.

This is the Premier League and even Guardiola was rattled and he had a squad of top, top class internationals and stars who understood the rigours and intensity of the EPL! We've got a side who are down hill skiers at best and not up to winning the title and now, not even competitive for a top four birth and some want to bring in a "noted" coach from outside of England, with no idea of the type of player required to perform in the EPL because as good as their record may be in other leagues, the EPL is absolutely nothing like they have ever experience, regardless of how well prepared they think they are and when you factor in that the squad that this novice to the English game will inherit, it will end up in tears.

Unfortunately, some of the supporters of our club did inherit what Wenger had oodles of, delusion. Those that think that taking a squad fast approaching mid table mediocrity and appointing a coach with a fabulous reputation garnered in another league will bring instant success, well, they are doing a "Wenger".

That's an....interesting perspective. Not one i agree with but interesting.

If we only have a 50 million budget we are in for a world of hurt given the holes in the squad.

I’ve heard the £50m budget figure a few times now. Could raise more by offloading a few players too.

Good read.

You would think the club has leaned on Wenger to retire and that said you would have imagined they would have had someone well positioned to take over wouldn't you ?

This does not seem to be the case as we are looking at small fish not the experienced major managers
Seems a mess to me
