Arsenal changed from Arteta to Spanish David Moyes because either Arteta wanted a say in who is signed or because of the backlash from the fans if Arteta was signed.

Cmon Lats that’s a tad harsh. Emery may have underperformed recently with PSG but his career record is streets ahead of Moyes.

Spanish David Moyes? huh? Must have missed all those Moyes trophies.

Or maybe the club decided to go with an experienced manager rather than take a gamble on a complete unknown.

Spanish David Moyes...

Seriously?

Guy has won a fair bit. 3 Europa Leagues in a row is nothing to sneeze at.

Sure he had it pretty easy at PSG, but won the League and Cups.

Mixed time at PSG, but not like he was eliminated from the CL by minnows, bowing out to Madrid and Barcelona (even though it was a massive choke) is pretty understandable.

Allegri was never a chance, he's going to Chelsea either now, or after taking one more stab at the CL with Juve - but, signing Emery after a week of Arteta rumours sounds like a big upgrade on our intentions, whereas signing Emery after a week of Arsenal fans fixating on Allegri sounds like settling for second best. Has Gazidis written all over it.

Interesting thread

Lifted from elsehwhere

"I can't remember whether it was Auclair or Laurens (ed: it was Auclair) on one of the pods, but they said that basically half the PSG squad were behind his approach and the other half including Neymar were essentially "* this" and weren't buying in with regards to the high work rate he expects etc."

Neymar, who already had a massive ego, was headhunted for billions and is getting paid a million dollars a week, is it any wonder he decided he didn't have to listen to a coach telling him to work harder?

PSG aint going to win s**t with Tuchel either.

Chelsea signing Allegri would go down well ...

If Arteta didn't get the job, it was because Arteta wanted to bring in players AND get rid of players as he saw fit. There is also the "backlash" stuff as well I reckon but there is no doubt about him wanting to be a "proper" manager with the freedom to sign or replace players. That's the type of fellow he is and if he doesn't get the job, then it's likely a "yes man" will.

Just on the fans "backlash". I find it quite amusing that the people on Gunner TV is it? these people who rant and rave about The Arsenal are more into "fashion" than they are into substance. Most of them wouldn't have been to Highbury with real grass roots Arsenal supporters. Those grass roots supporters can't afford to go to the Emirates let alone travel to away venues in England not to mention Europe. We are just like most of the other "top/big" clubs these days, top heavy with yuppie supporters. If we were still at Highbury, then Wenger would have been give the boot years ago and handbaggers like Ozil would not have lasted a minute more which says plenty about the ones who are now responsible for the "backlash".
