Emery has been brilliant lately, those haters in here who didn't want to even give him a chance are starting to look pretty silly.

Don't get to carried away with finding a way to overturn deficits we shouldn't even be getting in the first place. Hopefully we can start playing better away from home, because as the opposition gets tougher it won't be as easy to just overturn it and win by 3 clear goals at home.

More vindicated if anything. Those who are critical of him were so largely because of the way he treated and used Ramsey and Ozil who's reintroduction to the team has to lead to better performances and results. Had he used them correctly from the beginning we would be a far better position.

Yeah more vindicated because were better off than last season which you said we weren't, majority of players are playing better, he's got ozil actually working now not just doing what he wants jogging around the field, has managed ramsey to still put in performances when he's off next season, were looking likely to make top 4 with the mammoth of injuries we have had and w***ers like mustafi running around in the back line. Etc. Etc.

Yeah more vindicated. Lol :$

Nonsense. Given the context of last season in comparison to this season we really haven't improved that much or at least not until the last couple of weeks where Emery seems to have finally woken up and started using his best players. Last season was a disaster but given the changes in personnel and toxic atmosphere around the club the results were somewhat to be expected. It started off poorly with Ox leaving and Alexis wanting out and then not performing, we then sold Coquelin, Alexis, Walcott and Giroud in January who although no longer required were four key components of Wenger team for his last three years in charge, add to that Mesut missing most of the back end of last season and it is little wonder we struggled badly in the back end of the season. Compare that to this season we have had a number of quality additions come in the off season and had both strikers adapt to the league and not miss many games with injury. As for the injury front we've been pretty lucky this season with the exception of Bellerin and to a lesser extent Holding, outside of Myki we haven't really had an injury to our midfielders and front men, which in years past has been our undoing.

Ozil was playing better last season as to did Ramsey. But even with them not performing as well as last season they're integral to this team. Ozil "actually working now" is a laughable comment, suggest he hasn't in the past which couldn't be any further from the truth. Sure he is doing more dirty work but at a detriment to his attacking game whilst not exactly helping the team anymore defensively. While Ramsey performing despite being off next season has nothing to do with Emery and everything to do with Ramsey being a professional and playing out his contract at club that he loves, to suggest otherwise would make me question how much of Ramsey you've seen throughout his time here.

Lastly the manager doesn't have to pick Mustafi. Sure there are times when there is no choice but there have been a number of times this season where he has picked him in back three which is a ridiculous decision with odd exception such as the recent spurs game where a back three makes sense.

Fair enough, still think he's doing a pretty decent job so far imo and it was crazy to write him off so early.

If he gets us into top 4 or wins the europa or even both he's done remarkably well.

Who's people's player for the season so far?

I think it's close laca, auba, sokratis, torreira early even iwobi a chance but if i had to choose one it would be kolasinac, yeah he's not the greatest at defending but going forward as a wing back he's brilliant

I think with our squad as flawed as parts of it is that top four and Europa should be minimum expectation. Biggest issue that needs addressing though is away form which we have a few big test coming up that will ultimately decide our season, if we can improve our away form that will set up us nicely heading into next season. Thats arguably more important than top four or Europa.

Leno would be a shout. Ramsey could pinch it if he spends the rest of the season in b2b role and if we make top 4 or win Europa, as I think he is the key to achieving both. Right now I would go Lacazette, pretty sure he leads the league in goals that have resulted in the most points so hard to argue against him making the biggest difference. Xhaka despite the s**t he cops on here is also worthy of discussion, had some crap games but also been best on in a few.

What do you think should be our off season plan? Obviously have to replace Ramsey and upgrade Mustafi, but what route should we go down? Young promising players (Torriera types) or ready made guns to complement Auba and Lacazette?
