Well there’s the £100 mill west ham we’re after, surely they accept as rice wants arsenal and have matched there ridiculous valuation.
Apparently rejected, as WHU don't like the terms, but not rejected out of hand. Get the feeling this will be sorted one way or another in the next 24 hours.

Well hopefully we have some good news soon. 🤞
Honestly, I know we're still underdogs in this, what with City having basically unlimited money, but previously, we'd have bowed out when they lodged that mega-offer. For us to go back with a record offer means that maybe, just maybe, we've reached the "**** you, we're Arsenal, we've got plenty of money thanks." mindset stage.

That’s an extremely strong proposal from Arsenal. Smashes our transfer record and it would be one of the most significant transactions in PL history. Perhaps needs a bit of fine tuning on the structure and timing of payments to get it finalised, but would be amazed if the deal doesn’t get done from here.

Arsenal have shown however that not all chips are placed in one corner - there are alternatives in mind and in progress incase we need to pivot again.

If City come in over the top, I won't blame them for walking away. They've made a very VERY decent proposal. If it's not enough, so be it.

That being said, I reckon we get this done.

I hope [emoji28]

It’s a very strong offer, very reasonable and I’d be surprised if it doesn’t work towards an outcome. City have the advantage of being much more liquid with their payment structure, and of course their unrivalled wealth. However if Rice is set on Arsenal, it will happen.

I stay away from social media and the like and can only imagine some reactionary comments disparaging Arsenal, Edu, KSE etc.

Context matters here. Arsenal’s record signings at the moment are Pepe £72m, Aubameyang £55m and Lacazette/White £50m. In this last week alone, Arsenal have offered £100m+ for Rice and Havertz is close to being announced for £65mish.

That redefines that historical already. 2 of the top 3 all time record signings potentially within the same week. Add to that negotiations advancing towards the £40m-£50m vicinity for Timber, and Arsenal are absolutely investing heavily. They shouldn’t be criticised, in fact should be applauded for their ambition and support of Arteta. They mean business on and off the pitch, this is fantastic to see.

No idea what tier/how reliable, but I like this info so I’m going to believe it until otherwise told [emoji23]

EDIT: confirmed by Fabrizio. Les foggin go guys! Get it done Edu.

Apparently the Rice delay is over when the cash gets paid. We want four years. They want sooner

Yeah they want 18 months. Reckon this gets settled at 3 years.

Great news to wake up to. We are building a very nice squad, and importantly it seems that we are actually signing Arteta's preferred targets.

On a side note, prior to this summer we were still behind United in spending from 2019/20 to date.

Arsenal:
2019/20 - €160.80m
2020/21 - €86.00m
2021/22 - €167.40m
2022/23 - €192.36m
Total - €606.56m

United:
2019/20 - €236.80m
2020/21 - €83.80m
2021/22 - €142.00m
2022/23 - €243.28m
Total - €705.88

Amazing really as we've now got a squad with only three players over the age of 27 that you would consider are in the core group:

Saka - 21
Saliba - 22
Martinelli - 22
ESR - 22
(?) Timber - 22
Odegaard - 24
Tomiyasu - 24
(?) Rice - 24
Havertz - 24
White - 25
Ramsdale - 25
Gabriel - 25
Jesus - 26
Zinchenko - 26
KT - 26

Not including fringe players like - Vieira (23), Nelson (23), Kiwior (23), Eddie (24), Holding (27), El Neny (30).

The only senior players over 27 are:
Trossard - 28
Partey - 30
Jorginho - 31

Meanwhile United have several, with only two or three quality players in the younger bracket:

Antony - 23
Sancho - 23
Malacia - 23
Dalot - 24
(?) Mount - 24
Rashford - 25
Martinez - 25
AWB - 25
McTominay - 26
Martial - 27
Shaw - 27

Fringe - Garnacho (18), Diallo (20), Pelliatri (21), Elanga (21), DVDB (26)

Over 27 years of age:
Bruno - 28
Lindelof - 28
Fred - 30
Maguire - 30
Varane - 30
Eriksen - 31
Casemiro - 31
DDG - 32

The interesting thing now, assuming Timber joins us and maybe another DM, is whether players 12 to 24 are a closer match to ManC 2nd eleven. Our ability to rotate without losing quality is gonna be key.
