Wow. Hard to lose it like that and then assess it properly. I sensed during the replay that something mad was coming. Literally the last kick of the match though, phwoar.

Well played Villa. Very difficult patch of matches this last fortnight and these damn injuries probably stretched Arsenal just too far for now.

The defence is a concern. We need Saliba back asap. Hincapie is nowhere near good enough to lead that line.

Would have liked to see Norgaard come on to give one of the CMs a rest. They all looked cooked which probably led to the late winner.

Title race is very even again. We need to go on a run in the league to put some pressure back on City.

If you were to name the best 5 centre halves across Europe, I’d imagine many would have Saiba and Gabriel in that group. To have one of them out is a blow. To have both of them, that’s massive.

Whilst I thought Hincapie had a good game overall (and really wish he’d booted that ball upfield at the end), and Timber is an excellent CB for Netherlands, you just can’t replace Saliba and Gabriel.

I don’t believe we concede that goal with them on the pitch. We really don’t get run through like over midfield when they’re playing.

Eze I think struggled on the left and didn’t track the runner for their first goal. The winner really was a mad scramble in the box that could’ve gone anywhere. However Villa overall played very well and arguably could have been further ahead at the break.

Schedule has been very hectic and the squad is quite stretched at the moment. It’s a game that Arsenal just didn’t seem at the levels and can understand why. Villa haven’t lost at home since Arsenal’s win there in August 2024. That’s an excellent home record. A very tough place to go and a draw would have been a very good result.

Rice, Zubimendi once again started to flag towards the end. Norgaard’s lack of minutes is a head scratcher, perhaps borne out by not having either Saliba and Gabriel there behind him (too much change in the spine perhaps?). Don’t know. But surely he plays against Brugge. Players like Rice need a breather soon. That match isn’t critical overall and we should get a result still with good rotation.

One week break until Wolves which is the priority surely. And then another week until Everton. We need players fresh and back in the fold for those matches.

Arsenal are still tremendously placed this season, however at some point these continued injuries, coming in clusters at a time, has the potential to cost you a title.
