SO do i Wenger, so do i.

Wenger - I hope Henry wins in Europe but I don't think he will

By Richard Clarke
Arsène Wenger wants Thierry Henry to win the Champions League this season but he predicts that an English side will scoop the trophy.
The French duo so nearly won the competition with Arsenal in 2006 but for Barcelona to snatch the silverware in the last 14 minutes of the Final. Ironically, Henry swapped Emirates Stadium for the Nou Camp last summer and, though neither club nor player have enjoyed a vintage season, they are one step from Moscow. Barcelona face Manchester United in the Semi-Final starting next week with Liverpool taking on Chelsea in the other.
"To me it will be an English team that wins the Champions League," said Wenger speaking before the weekend. "I wish that Thierry Henry wins it but Manchester United will be super-favourites against them.
"Barcelona haven't looked the side of two years ago. But Barcelona are Barcelona and so you never know. However even if they win they will have to play another English team in the Final."

Wenger - I'm not afraid to spend big money

By Richard Clarke
Arsène Wenger is not scared to buy big this summer if he feels he needs to.
Speaking before the weekend defeat at Old Trafford that saw Arsenal's title bid come to an end, the manager said he may only take on one experienced player in the close season. However, despite some of his previous signings failing to fulfil their potential, he would not be afraid to outlay major money.
For example he was asked if the purchases of Jose Antonio Reyes and Francis Jeffers had put him off spending high transfer fees, also whether he was 'scared' of bringing in a superstar like Ronaldinho.
"Scared of what?" he replied. "I would not be scared. We couldn't afford him now so we have to forget it.
"But the money [we have paid out] is not comparable to what other teams have spent on players. For example with Reyes we got a big part back and for Jeffers a little part back. If we have the money and I am convinced it is worth it, we will do it."

Fuken do it Wenger, do it. You're bloody pulling our brains apart.

Players that need to be signed i know it won't happen but one can dream can't they?

We need a left winger (Hatem Ben Arfa)
We need another Striker ( David Villa)
Another CB/RB ( Micah Richards)
Another Keeper im undecided yet will get back to everyone on this one
Resign Flamini
If these things were done we would win the Title next year.

I'd be VERY happy to get David Villa, for two reasons. 1) signing a world class striker - you'd be crazy to not be happy if it happened 2) If we did sign him, Van Persie could be an option for playing on the left and therefore we mightn't need a left mid so much. Kinda like a hitting two birds with one stone scenario.

Also with our left mid problems another option is Clichy to left mid and either buy a LB or groom Traore for left back. Traore is meant to be one of if not the best young fullback in Europe. If we give him game time and he becomes a decent Left Back then Clichy can play left mid which I think would suit him fine because he's a very attacking player. Would be very similar to Ashley Young.

That said, I want us to buy both Villa and Ashley Young - it'd just be easier that way :D:thumbsu:

Hell no. Wenger tried that with Eboue - failed miserably.

Clichy is much better than Eboue - better crosser, faster, has more potential, etc.

I see where you are coming from though. I'd rather we just buy Young or Ben Arfa as opposed to taking that risk:thumbsu:

"We are not in the transfer market for David Villa," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference. "...I rate him highly as a player but I will not make concrete investigations for anyone at the moment."

The manager went on: "I feel up front I need to give time to Walcott and Bendtner because they have made big improvement for me this season. Theo is coming on so I need to give them a chance or they will not come out."
That's rich. "I feel up front I need to give time to Walcott and Bendtner." Walcott doesn't even get a start no matter how well he plays, and all Bendtner is good for is being a bench player. FFS - it's David Villa. Villa is a MUCH >>>>> striker than Bendtner AND Walcott. Essentially, by saying he wants to play Walcott striker he is implying Eboue will remain at right mid. So he's pretty much saying he'd rather have Eboue than Villa - nice f___ing choice. What a load of crap.

Big spending Manchester United may be odds-on for the title now, but that won't stop manager Sir Alex Ferguson splashing the cash once more this summer. The Scot has already highlighted four potential signings and is willing to spend £40m.
Surprise surprise. United will spend big in the transfer window and we're the ones who are doing sweet f___ all. It's been that way for too long and the title count is indicative.

So pissed off right now :mad::mad: I'm sick of Wenger being so stubborn - we have 70million to spend this transfer, and one of the best strikers on the planet is interested in coming to the club. Doesn't take a genius to figure that you put 1 and 2 together and make it happen.

Preferbly wenger has to change his trnsfer method if we want to win things or we have to change manager.

good win. But too little, too late. From what i hear we are going after Nasri and Benzema. That is far more of a long term solution rather than a quick fix attempt to win next year. That sounds alot more Wenger-esque. The board and CEO probably want him to bu superstars so we get instant results and wenger wants to recruit youngsters, so they meet halfway with superstar youngsters! Nasri and Fabregas in the midfield would be deadly. Benzema would allow RVP to play Left mid/wing and walcott on the right, both playing a sort of cristiano ronaldo style of falling in behind the strikers. All speculation though

After Wenger's comments on Villa, I doubt we'll sign a star striker.

He'll probably sign more midfielders. We should replace Eboue with Bosingwa. Bosingwa also plays RB/RW and can actually play. Eboue + 3-4 mil could be enough.

Unless you're relegating Sagna to the bench, Richards isn't coming to be 'another RB/CB' and there's no way he's better than Gallas at this point.

Ben Afra would be another Babel for mine. Not ready for any consistency as yet in the Premier League and certainly not the player you need to win things.

Good win on the weekend, great performance and deserved at least a 4-0 or 5-0 scoreline. It'd be good if the boys can win their remaining games and possibly snatch second, but we'll see.

Rumours going around that Hleb and Adebayor are being targeted by Italian clubs, and Flamini is yet to sign a new deal and as each day goes by it gets more likely he will leave. Hopefully Wenger can keep the squad together because I think next year we'll have a great chance to win some silverware. A few players like a back up centre back, one or two left/right sided midfielders and a backup striker is probably all we need.

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has conceded that midfielder Mathieu Flamini's days as a Gunner look to be numbered. French international Mathieu Flamini's current Arsenal contract is due to expire in the summer, and the combative midfielder has not yet signed a new deal - despite the fact that a reported £50,000 a week offer has been on the table for him for more than a month.

Now the Gunners fear that Flamini may already have given the nod to a pre-contract agreement with Italian side Juventus, who have been courting him for some time. The Arsenal chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, admits that they may reluctantly be forced to part company soon with their defensive midfield star, who made such an impact alongside Cesc Fabregas in the centre of the park for Arsenal this season.
That's crap :mad::mad::mad:

At the end of last season he was a goner, a nobody, and pretty much everybody wanted him delisted. Wenger stuck by him, showed faith in him, and now he's world class. Now he's going to repay Wenger's faith by leaving the club the first chance he gets. Typical.
