I would play

Wojciech
Sagna-Mert-Kos-Monreal
Flamini-Arteta
Gnabry-Ozil-Cazorla
Bendtner

Against Palace. Which would you see certain players getting a rest and not have too many changes to unbalance the side. Ozil can get a rest in the Chelsea game, as can Kos and Sagna.

Squad rotation is absolutely critical. You don't want to flirt with form but Palace this week should be a lock for 3 points but you don't want to rest too many and it blows up in your face.
Interesting times.

Why would you rest those 3 for the Chelsea game but not the Palace game?

Put Wilshere/Rosicky in the middle for the palace game bring Ozil on if needed, I'm not a fan of changing things at the back too much but if needed bring Vermaelen in for either of the 2 for the Palace game.

Leave Ramsey, Ozil, Giroud out for the Palace game our 3 most important players this season and give them a well deserved rest bring Ozil/Ramsey on only if needed

Would prefer to focus on the league and UCL. Take a defensive line up into the Chelsea then bring on the more gifted players like Ozil who can run rings around tired defenders.

A backline of:

Jenkinson-Mert-Verm-Monreal

With Flamini and Arteta in midfield shouldn't concede goals from open play.

We won't win the CL, rather go for Domestic titles.

I'd rather earn respect from other big clubs so we can start calling ourselves a big club again. The knock on effects from making a semi final IMO are far greater than that of winning the Capital One cup. By knock on effects I refer to confidence and being an attractive option for players. Something the Capital One cup doesn't bring. Not saying I don't want to win it, just would rather focus UCL and premier league.

I'd rather win the League than make a semi of the CL.

With the limited depth in our squad, we must rest players for carling cup games (even though a trophy is a trophy and I'd take anything we can get in terms of silverware). But we're not going to win the CL, so winning the league itself would surely be a significant enough of an attraction for new players I would've thought.

John Cross has written today that we are negotiating with Juve for a loan deal for Llorente in January. Wow. Now that would be something.

******* useless Marseille.

This group is wide open now. Napoli and Dortmund in the box seat with 2 home matches but that includes games against us.

Absolutely vital we don't lose both.

Dortmund and Napoli still have to play each other, we just need to take a point at either of our away games vs Napoli/Dortmund then must beat Marseille @ home.

Didn't get to watch the game as living in Toronto, CL kick offs are 2.45pm ET smack bang during a working day so all I get is to read the commentary feed from uefa.com but by all reports the Lewendowski goal was a real sucker punch :(

IMO we really need Theo against the big clubs.

Theo would've been very handy towards the end when the game starts to open up. Would've linked up well with Giroud's hold up play.

Anyway, I'd like to think we're capable of winning in Italy and Germany. 2 draws would be very good results, but a win at either of them (and obviously against Marseille) should see us through.

Think Wilshere will be rested tonight. We were lacking a winger against Dortmund so I would start Gnabry who has looked good when started by Wenger this season.
