Yep, classic mind games from Jose. His praise of Ozil is probably genuine though. He said similar things the day we signed him, saying he was the best number 10 in the world.

Interesting reshuffle with Ozil essentially playing second striker to Giroud and Rosicky ok the right but really cutting in central.

Podolski and Cazorla on the bench, will likely be used at some point.

Pretty ordinary. We just can't break down Mourinho's Chelsea. Difficult conditions yes, but our passing and final ball was unusually off.

We spoke of an important run of games a fortnight ago, ahead of Everton, Napoli, City and this morning Chelsea.

We failed to win any of them and only managed 2 points from a possible 12. Not the end of the world, but now have another considerable run of games coming up where we must respond.

Did we end up making any subs?

As much as I love Giroud he has recently shown that he isn't good enough. That miss this morning was disgusting. At least work the keeper FFS. If Dzeko is available we have to go hard for him.

No subs were used for us in the end. Having said that, Podolski hasn't played in 4 months and Santi has been quite average this season, so its difficult to know what influence they may have had.

Giroud is fantastic but wasteful, we knew that last season. That miss this morning was more difficult than it looked, given the conditions etc, but you'd still expect to perhaps test the keeper from that range. Clinical finishing really can be the difference between winning a title or not come end of the season.

Whilst I like Dzeko, I don't believe City will sell to us (if they are to sell him at all). You usually don't see too many class players being sold to direct rivals/challengers (aside from us selling RvP last season). And that's why Jose pulled the pin on the Ba loan move after we signed Ozil.

If we are going to buy another striker, it would likely be from outside of England. But another problem arises, who really lets world class strikers leave in January? Time will tell.

I don't think Dzeko is much better than Giroud if at all TBH so wouldn't really be worth pursuing, I agree that miss was pretty poor should have probs scored that or at least made the keeper work.
We didn't make any subs. Maybe Cazorla could have come on and done something but he's been pretty shithouse this season so far, Podolski would be lacking match fitness, Bendtner maybe should have come on for Giroud.

Bad news about dropping points yet again.

Didn't watch game due to work, saw some highlights though, you do feel another striker would have buried those chances. .

And who else has watched the Keane/Vieira doco? ******* brilliant.

Feels like a little while since we've won a game, I believe that was against Hull at the start of the month. Another big 10 days coming up. Away to West Ham tomorrow morning, away to Newcastle three days later, home to Cardiff on the 2nd Jan, then a massive cup game vs Spurs on the 5th.

Podolski, Cazorla and Flamini would all push for a start tomorrow morning. Giroud and Ozil would probably also need a breather at some point during that run.

I dont get what Wenger is doing. Makes no subs on Monday and only makes one change today. Players are being burnt out.

If we had a class striker this game is over.

I was surprised with the team selection as well.

Maybe he thinks the team is fresh after the 9 day break? He better not play fringe players at Newcastle.

Damn Giroud should of got a foot to those 2 chances he had would have just been an easy tap in dude has got to start scoring more and quick he's in a team where it would be a dream to be the main striker if you were any good you get more than ample opportunity to put the ball in the back of the net, don't get me wrong I like Giroud he has been a big part as to why were on top and his link up play is fantastic he just needs to start scoring more.
