Give it to Wilshere. Tries his heart out for the club, quality player and unlike the others he'll probably be at the Emirates for another decade. Who knows, it might be the inspiration he needs to kick his game up a notch.

Nah, he is a bit too hot headed for my liking. I'd go Mertesacker or Ramsay.

Probably a bit too petulant for Wenger's liking at this stage. He's a future captain but needs to nail down his form and fitness.

Ramsey is now seen as a star. So this will be a tougher season as people will be expecting the world from him.

Captaincy would be too demanding for him at this stage.

Just give it to Per.

Wilshere isn't necessarily in our best 11 either. I'm a fan of big CB being the captain, we need a new Tony Adams figure!
Correct, is not an automatic starter and is overrated by the fans and press because he is English and supposedly a future England captain. Needs to get his game right and get through a season injury free for now.

Was always going to go down that path when Chelsea entered the race. Bender appears to be not only a cheaper option, but also a much better player to fit our needs.

Do you guys watch Bender regularly?

A workmate who watches the Bundesliga regularly claims his form was absolutely woeful since the turn of the year. Cost him a place in Germany's squad.

Quick google search says he got injured in the German pre-tournament training camp and that's why he missed the WC

From what I've read, seeing as I haven't really watched Khedira or Bender play, that they're more box to box midfielders. Do we really need a player like that? I'd prefer someone more defensively minded, but I have no idea who.
Schneiderlin.

I haven't watched him game-to-game but he bossed us at St Mary's in January.

I think the fans are just caught up with the names and not what we actually need.

Schneiderlin would be a great fit for what we need. At half the cost as well. He does seem like he's on the way out, his comments a few days ago about Southampton selling all their best players was almost a 'get me out of here' ploy. Would be rapt if we signed him.

Khedira's profile is probably larger than it should be because he is a Real Madrid footballer. Although he would be a 'big signing' I don't believe he would fit the bill as well as Bender or Schneiderlin wojld.
