Damn Giroud should of got a foot to those 2 chances he had would have just been an easy tap in dude has got to start scoring more and quick he's in a team where it would be a dream to be the main striker if you were any good you get more than ample opportunity to put the ball in the back of the net, don't get me wrong I like Giroud he has been a big part as to why were on top and his link up play is fantastic he just needs to start scoring more.

Giroud is just having a minor goal scoring slump, his hold up play, work rate and assists are enough while he works through to the other side.

Agree with that. So many reactionary people these days that don't seem even want to give players a few poor weeks before they start calling for heads.

Good to get the win in the end, when we play moments of football like it can be difficult to stop. Although we should've had more goals, Giroud is suffering from a heavy workload over the last few months.

Theo has made a great impact since his return. 4 goals in two games. Ramsey's injury is the biggest worry. Even when Wenger acknowledges its serious, you know it's a major concern. Says its likely a thigh strain and he'll miss the next few games of this period at least.

Flamini will likely slot back in for him. Wilshere's suspension is also over now as well.

Agree. A month and a bit ago, he was God now, he's rubbish according to some.

The bloke has run himself into the ground and needs a rest although personally, I sill reckon he's not top shelf but you can't knock his commitment.

I wish some would run hot and cold with our 'keeper but.

Giroud needs some help and it gets obvious when the congested fixtures come along.
I still don't believe he'll ever be a 20 goal a season striker (in the EPL) but he works hard both ways and wins the ball in the air quite well. Has some nice touches and sets up his team mates but we need a clinical striker, not just to convert some of the chances Giroud wastes, but to give the guy a break.

No way will we get Costa though. Wish we got the biter though, what can you do though.
We linked to any good forwards that we have any chance in signing?

Not sure anyone said Giroud was rubbish Northa? It's pretty apparent what's happened to him, been run into the ground and overworked through lack of alternatives for us. His finishing has never really been his strong point but that too has suffered further through his overall workload.

I think he could benefit with a breather on Sunday, and start Podolski up top. And Flamini in for Ramsey.

From another forum

That's why I'm not so harsh as some others about him atm because I understand his role in the team and how Wenger is using him and it is far removed from a pure striker.

Sure we can see the guy is low on confidence but it seems Wenger is not too bothered atm as long as he still sees Giroud contributing to the general play as he did yesterday when setting up that Podolski goal and Wenger is relying on goals coming from all positions unlike Liverpool who are relying heavily on just one striker in Suarez.

We'd all love to see a player that is asked to play a false 9 role that can score plenty of goals as well but there are not many of them around. Cavani is the best in the world if employed as a false 9.

Makes sense, really.

Giroud isnot good at heading the ball for goals. In ligue 1 he hardly scored with his head same last season for Arsenal.

His shot conversion is below Premier League standard. His conversion rate is 15% when league standard is 16%. Suarez and Aguero are around 28%. Podolski has one of the best conversion rates at 38%.

Just curious Latro, where do these stats come from? Opta? I'd be interested to see the conversion rates of the greats like Henry, RVN etc
