The suspect package was a dummy device left over from a training exercise....

If we sign Xhaka and Kante, that really bolsters our CM prospects.

CM isn't really high on our list of priorities. Elneny, Coq, Rambo and Wilshere are all fantastic players and they'll be even better come next season.

We need a f*cking striker! And not Higuain. Too slow. Lacazette would do just fine.

Oh and another CB and RM/W too. Varane and Douglas Costa respectively, could do the trick.

We have money! F*cking spend it!

CM is by far our biggest weakness and in most need of an overhaul.

Our best combination over the past two season has been Coquelin/Cazorla. Problem with that partnership is both need one another to hide their flaws. We need players who don't need others to hide their flaws. Xhaka will be a good start. Strong enough defensively and good in the build up, who partners him (provided we sign him) will be interesting.

I'm sure you'll find it is.

Strikers don't need to be quick.

Why on Earth would Douglas Costa leave Bayern? Absolutely ridiculous name to suggest.

I like the home one.

I regard ElNeny and Coquelin to be bloody fantastic young players who need to tidy up a few things. Ramsey and Wilshere had down years, but they'll be okay.

Strikers need pace, especially with our 4-2-3-1 set up. Silliness to suggest otherwise.

I think there's a chance Costa might move. Like Ozil and Sanchez (who played in and starred for the two biggest and most storied clubs in the world), a new boss might change a few things. It's common knowledge that Costa's main desire to play for Bayern over Chelsea and Manchester United was because Pep Guardiola was there. He won't be there next season, so who knows? Not ridiculous, just slightly optimistic. ;)

The whole point of that formation is to have a hold up striker who can bring those around him in. Pace is not important in that role.

Does not matter what formation you have, you want a top quality striker who can do both... Hold the play up and have pace to get in behind.

I could name faster strikers that are the same height. We'd all love a world class striker I'm sure but as thats unlikely to happen maybe we have to take a punt on a Morata or Sturridge, both have issues one unproven and one is severely injury prone but we can't have another season with the same options.

Not necessarily. The 4-2-3-1 formation, especially one where the attacking midfielder (in this case, Ozil) isn't usually deployed as a second striker, is designed for a pacey striker.

It can be used as a hold up formation, but that's being increasingly used as a false 9, 4-3-3.

Yep. Giroud is a good player, I'm not denying that. But look at how successful a Vardy/Kane type player is during counter attacks. Lacazette has the ability to hold up play and lay off assists. Maybe not as well as Giroud, but he has the pace and finishing ability to flourish at The Emirates. Plus, it's Ozil's job to assist. ;)

Then name them.

Hey fair's fair, well done Giroud on getting a hatrick. It is a notable personal achievement.

Yeah, I know he was up against one of the worst defensive units that has ever (dis)graced the EPL but all you can do is punish them and he did, so well done.

For his first goal he was completely unmarked, his second was a beauty and his third, well, which center forward wouldn't want to have Micah Richards as the center half? Honestly, M. Richards is without doubt THE worst defender I can remember in donkeys years; even worse than that Luiz joke as a defender.

I was absolutely rapt that one of my all time favourite players in Mikel Arteta got on the pitch and scored. Before he did his ACL at Newcastle in '09, the same game in which that c*** Kevin Nolan tried to snap a young Victor Anichebe's leg in two (how it didn't snap makes one wonder if there really are things like miracles), before he did his ACL, he was an incredible playmaker and it was a privilege to watch him play and a tragedy that he never got to represent his country.

After he came back from the injury, he had lost a yard and because he was never endowed with speed, he was never quite the player he was before but still, he was a real class act.

To watch him in his little cameo at the end of the game was really heartwarming and just showed I reckon, what we really do need in our side: a player like Arteta who can just control that center of the pitch and who has class, plays with all his heart and refuses to give in and what's more, has mongrel in him because make no mistake, Arteta had lashings of mongrel in him. Thanks old mate.
