Two Hird sycophants, great...
They won by popular vote, what more do you want? If more people didn't want these people in, then they wouldn't have won.

She won by 18 votes, yes the majority won out but people can still have their reservations/be disappointed. Tony Abbott won by 'popular vote'.. Yet we still whinge and question it.

Anyway, anyone able to shed more light on the "Youthful/Member views" that she is going to try and bring in... Does that mean she wants to scrap the automatic opt-out donation? Or anything else in particular?

Instead of simply being sycophantic maybe they are ensuring that the board speaks for supporters rather than the AFL. This result would be a difficult one to swallow for the AFL who must surely be frustrated by the fact that the one thing that their media-controlled agenda cannot manipulate is the power of the member's voice within a club's constitution.

I love the AFL conspiracy angle so many have given in to. Yes guys you really saved us here, pat yourselves on the back.

To sum up her position on the board and the work it has done (Judging by her BTV interview):

I don't mean to bash the poor lady too much, but it's all I could think of when she spoke about them.

And surprise, both these were Bomberblitz supported candidates who ran campaigns on the site with the help of moderators.

You look at some of the candidates and then see we've elected two nobodies backed by a bunch of knuckle draggers. God help us.

Say what you will about Blitz they picked their candidates and drummed up support. If people felt so strongly about these people not winning they would have campaigned with them and raised awareness. I didnt really see any of that, just people complaining, Same way people always complain that they want something better but never do anything about it.

in a vote with so few actual voters effort was always going to win. Blitz posters cared enough to help. Pretty simple.

When I stated I voted for Gauci on twitter you should have seen how many Blitzers came out of the woodwork. Took literally 2 minutes.

This is not about 'conspiracy theories'. This is about the AFL's disastrous attempts to micro-manage the saga to their own ends and our board's complicity in towing the AFL line. I saw a real passion to serve the club and not be swayed by outside agendas. I didn't have the same faith in Gauci's motives despite his obvious credentials. He didn't do himself any favours by the route in which he tried to sell himself. If anything, Paul and Catherine have shown themselves to be shrewd operators by tapping into and selling themselves via a more relevant medium... moving forward.

But Cathy spoke pretty damn highly of the way the board has handled everything so far? Would that not suggest she was happy in the way they have toed the AFL line?

Caeser got elected to the Roman Senate off the back off bread and forgiving loans for the poor.

And well done for these two to actually engaging the most passionate part of our supporter who where the most likely to vote.

Too be honest if you of got one of the mods here to run, they would have got elected. Would have been cheaper to get to games than buying a high mark membership.

Maybe you can be the one who sheds some light on any details of what Cathy plans to do?

Her contact details are pretty easy to find online, just ask her what her plans are and how whether she's happy with what's been going on. It's safe to say she'd give you better info than anyone on this board could

I thought he won by "preferential vote" ?

The only positive she mentioned that I remember was in relation to the efforts by the current board to 'navigate' the recent issues with integrity. Even then she diplomatically qualified this by saying that the board had allowed the story to get away from them. I think that there is a genuine concern with how most of the current board and Evans allowed the story to begin.

Only 2 candidates who understood the core supporter base.

Only people to blame are the other candidates who misread the situation and don't seem to have a clue how modern networks work.

Monumental day. Feel very proud to be a Bomber.

Actually I blame the thousands upon thousands of our members who even after the last two years, couldn't be farked voting online in a board election.

Considering what we're going through and the importance of the board team moving forward I do find this an amazingly piss-poor voter turn-out.
