According to his manager, Kennedy doesnt want to go to WC unless Blues tell him to.

Tiges and WC still talking. Miller said "he wants to keep Carlton honest".

Some senior WC officials (ie Nisbett) may not even bother going over.

Nothing will happen before Thursday IMO.

Reason why there isnt anything new? They are having a rest day. Unbelievable.

rest day!!!!

you have got to be kidding. a rest from what?? it only goes for a week. heaven forbid these blokes do an actual weeks work like the rest of us

I know. They are just sitting around talking about the goold old times.

Trade 'week' should only be over 3 days.

The Eagles are playing this right. They should walk away from the bargaining table with Carlton until Thursday.

It is not a foregone conclusion that Carlton have Judd and the longer this goes the more Carlton will sh*t themselves. Also the time delay allows Collingwood to get their best deal together and put it to the Eagles.

Judd will go to Collingwood because it has cap space, a good core of players, good facilities, finals prospects, fame and Twigley can be lloked after.

Collingwood will try to do a deal - if given a sniff and Carlton will miss out. Also Richmond won't want to do Carlton any favours.

The longer this goes, the quicker the bravado of Swann and Pratt will go.

The Eagles should just hold out now.

given what has has happened in the last week in the west, let them have their rest day. Mainwarings death puts all this into context and if a few carlton supporters have to endure another day of angst, so be it.

Besides, if carlton are really worried about timelines, let them do a deal straight off the mark acceptable to west coast, if it is that important to them. Make them an offer they cant refuse. Or is Swann's legacy from Collingwood in that he cant close a deal, going to be Carltons new legacy?

Didn't Demetriou comment that any Veale deal would be illegal as it is against the spirit of the game?

Reality is that West Coast have to either:

a) deal with Carlton and get something, OR
b) loose Judd for nothing in the PSD to Richmond

I don't see how WCE have any bargaining power. If push comes to shove they will accept simply no. 3.

Cant rule out Collingwood yet.

They should be able to get the deal done with Carlton on Thursday you would think.

The 'bravado of Pratt'?... give me strength.

You honestly think he's not been involved in deals far bigger than this?

He sh.ts bigger deals than this each morning just after breakfast.

Also - the time delay allows Collingwood to put their best deal together - what, as opposed to not being able to get their sh*t together over the past few weeks.

Face it - when it comes to the big end of town, McGuire's all trouser and no leg - he couldn't even hold down the Nine CEO job for little more than a year.... probably just as well for Nine - they hardly flourished under his stewardship.

And before you go on about the ACCC - Pratt's still the third-richest man in Australia and is still running one of it's larger companies. McGuire's struggling to hold onto his gig as a game-show host.

The Eagles are idiots you mean.

Judd will not go to Collingwood, Manchester United or the New York Yankees.

He has decided upon a club. He is a morale person and will hold to this decision. Collingwood can offer West Coast whatever they like but unless Judd says yes (please read above) WestCoast and Collingwood can't do anything apart from play with each other.

Everyday this drags on Carlton will reduce the offer. I can see West Coast getting sweet FA for the best player in the AFL and then they can blame themselves.

In most difficult projects and negotiations, people start seriously talking only when the deadline is in sight.

Rather than waste our time with bullshit offers, better to just wait until something serious is on the table. Give Carlton a day to think seriously about just how much they want Judd, and give West Coast time to look at other options.

Despite what was said on monday, I suspect that if West Coast weren't talking to Carlton, they weren't just talking quietly amongst themselves either. Something's brewing.

I thought all the Carlton fans said this deal will be stitched up by today?? :D

Yeah and Richard Pratt always maintained he never colluded with Amcor. Nothing but hot air. Boy have I got some carlton mates to pay out on if Judd lands at pund road. Talk about counting chickens before hatching.

Can't believe the rest day bit though. They're all judded out perhaps?

WCE have to trade, whether they do it today or friday after lunch is up to them, but no deals with victorian clubs will go through until the Judd trade is wrapped up, which will ultimately infuriate a lot of clubs, players and managers, so they should think about how badly they need a rest.

c) Tell Chris that they are happy for him to go to Melbourne, in exchange for pick 4 and Travis Johnstone and another player or pick. Still less than what they would get from Carlton, but more than what they would get from the PSD. Would force Carlton to move.

It is a preferred club decided upon by a gut feeling you clown! Judd will just as quickly jump over to the Lexus Centre if the right situation occurs, I never thought I'd say this but I'd rather deal with Collingwood now than Carlton given the amount of drivel coming from their arrogant fans

WCE have one big bargaining chip - Collingwood. They don't just have to accept 3. If Collingwood can get a deal going with Melbourne, Carlton may be left with nothing.

Watch the Carlton fans start sh*tting themselves because while Pratt's millions may give Carlton renewed strength, collingwood would whiteant Carlton in heartbeat.

It's easy for the deal to be done Swann- put number 1 on the table or get nothing.

WRONG! WCE don't have to do nothing. Also the Judd trade isn't holding anything up really because it is between 2 clubs- not multiple clubs so don't be fooled by that- the other clubs will get on with business as usual.

Either Carlton get their act together and secure Judd or run the risk of missing out. I can't see this getting done until friday. Will be interesting to see who caves in when push comes to shove.

Also rest day?? WTF??

He is a morale person and will hold to this decision.

So you know Chris Judd personally then?

I don't so I can admittedly only go on what I see in the press, but a bloke who decided months ago while captaining the club and said nothing, and chooses one club and let's his manager bend his former club over to get a good deal for the new one isn't one I would automatically assume to be of good morale fibre.

Don't forget there will be a press conference with Judd. at the moment (from what i've heard) Judd is still in perth until tomorrow.

Richmond also want Morton from west coast. fair chance they will meet and talk about that.
