Update on Cookie ?

May be too early in season but we get no WA news here

One of my fave players heading towards twighlight. I would have him in my team (even on bench) for committment and excitement (crash!) value.

But Bell Carr Hasleby and others must be going to limit his chances?

Anyone got an update on how he is going & looking for 07?
Do you think he will be a regular?

Oh also is he aligned with perth Demons in WAFL... and do you expect him to continue there after AFL?

He played in the All Stars game against the Bombers in Darwin, didn't do much though. He looks pretty good, no injuries etc. He might find it a bit harder with Solomon around, though.

Cookie is in a group of 6-8 players who are good enough to play but aren't in our best 22 on paper.

The inclusion of Soloman may make it even more difficult for him to get a run as they are similar in styles. But Solly has better skills..

And without Doogs to bring everyone down with his floppy Human League style hair and inherent crapness the Demons are on the march to the flag in 2007. Or at least a finals appearance. Possibly.

30 years without a flag is a tad embarassing; especially considering everyone else has won at least 4 since.

I love seeing him play across half forward or even in the pocket. His desperation and courage is sensational with the way he applies defensive pressure in the forward 50 as well as his crumbing skills! If only he can start kicking them through the middle! He's getting better at his kicking, but that's not saying much!

You will find sowfs are a very generous club when it comes to the strugglers of the comp.

That little hiccup you mention was a well orchestrated choke done in the interest of giving you some confidence for this season.

It's not just you; I changed it to reflect my football going persona. It won't change again.

And thanks for the well orchestrated confidence boost; kicking 1 goal to 1/2 time is a fine choke. Good of you to do the same for Subi in the Grand Final.

In all honesty! Good luck to Demons this season . The WAFL needs to even up the competition to ensure it's ongoing success.

Troy Cook should be in the team week in week out, he is the hardest player in the team and some of the things he does no one else in the team would even dare do, the shepards (the Best in the league), tackles (i feared for Brownes life) and 1%ers he gives well and truly makes up for his so called lack of skills. and with the 4 goals straight he kicked in the finals it didnt look like he had a problem at all.

Back to subject; Cookie was instrumental in the winning run last year, so he should be retained form permitting. They reckon they may play Solly in attack anyway.

Yep, Cookie will definitely be strongly persued by the Perth Football Club after his retirement. Hopefully his body allows him to play on and strike fear in the opposition seaguls - *cough* Woewodin *cough*
