Alan Didak will see a cardiologist today after he was given the all-clear by doctors last night following an ECG and blood tests after he suffered heart palpitations and light headedness in the opening quarter of the Roos clash at the Telstra Dome on Sunday.
The Collingwood forward was helped from the ground by trainers after only 20 minutes, after he had dropped to one knee behind play.
However, following extensive tests on Sunday evening at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond, Didak is confident that, if given the all-clear today, he will return to full training later in the week.
“From what I can remember I was just walking back to my position on the half forward flank and I looked up at the scoreboard and I felt a bit light headed and looked back to the ground – and then I knew I wasn’t right.
“I went to ground – going on to one knee and closed my eyes for a couple of seconds – and then opened them and things were fine again.
“But then I stood back up and it happed again and I went to ground - and called the Docs over and they took me off and into the rooms.
“I felt my heart racing after the first episode.
“It is just one of those freakish things. I have no history of heart trouble and hopefully it is one of those things that never happen again.
“I am looking forward to getting back to training later in the week if given the all-clear.”
Meanwhile, Chris Tarrant will have a MRI scan on Tuesday to determine whether the he should go under the surgeon’s knife now or wait until the end of the season to attend to a cyst behind his knee cap which has plagued the star Collingwood forward all season.
